    Abstract: A method of fabricating a high-temperature bobbin for a solenoid or other electrical assembly includes the step of providing a bobbin configured for use in the assembly. The bobbin is coated with an anti-oxidation composition and an anti-corrosion composition to produce an oxidation/corrosion resistant bobbin. The oxidation/corrosion resistant bobbin is coated with an electrical insulating composition that is resistant to corona discharge at or below a predetermined voltage threshold to produce an insulated and oxidation/corrosion resistant bobbin. The anti-oxidation composition, the anti-corrosion composition, and the electrical insulating composition can withstand temperatures of subzero up to temperature greater than 1000° F.

    Abstract: A superconducting device includes a first superconducting wire configured to carry a first current in a superconducting state, and to generate thermal energy upon occurrence of a hot spot during conduction. The device includes a second superconducting wire, thermally coupled to and electrically isolated from the first superconducting wire. The second superconducting wire is configured to conduct a second current in a superconducting state below, but sufficiently near its critical surface to be quenched to a non-superconducting state upon conduction of the thermal energy from the first superconducting wire.

    Abstract: A filter component assembly kit includes a bobbin that is configured with first and second members and a core that is in a quadrangular frame shape. When the first member is assembled with the second member, a through hole is formed in the bobbin. The through hole extends in a first direction. The core is configured with first and second extension bars. The first and second extension bars extend in parallel in the first direction. When the first extension bar is disposed in the through hole of the bobbin, rotation of the core around the first extension bar is prevented. First allowance of the first extension bar in a second direction, which is perpendicular to the first direction, in the through hole is larger than second allowance of the first extension bar in a third direction, which is perpendicular to the first and second directions, in the through hole.

    Abstract: A transformer having a plastics coil former on whose hollow winding tube (7) between flanges (3, 5) windings (11, 13) of different potentials are wound with one winding wound on top of the other. The flanges (3, 5) are provided with spacers (17, 19, 23) to keep the windings (11a, 13a) axially spaced from the flanges (3, 5). An insulating layer (21), which extends from flange to flange, is interposed between the windings (11, 13). The winding (11) nearer the coil-former axis is spaced from the flanges (3, 5) by fixed spacers or stepped portions (17, 19) provided on the winding tube (7). The winding (13) arranged on the insulating layer (21) is spaced from the flanges (3, 5) by spacing blocks (23) which are connected to the flange areas (24) of the coil former by integral hinges (25). The spacing blocks are operable for swinging down onto the insulating layer (21).
