Abstract: A digital conference system can include a digital conference manager that automatically selects a digital conference service based on one or more digital conference parameters. A digital conference agent can request a digital conference configuration from a policy manager 204 that is based on the one or more digital conference parameters. The policy manager 204 can send the selected digital conference configuration to the digital conference agent that sends the selected digital conference configuration or an identifier associated with a digital conference service associated with the digital conference configuration to a digital conference service manager. The digital conference service manager establishes a digital conference connection based on the digital conference service received from the digital conference agent. The digital conference service is automatically selected without requiring extensive knowledge by the user so as to provide a customized and enhanced digital conference without burdening the user.

Abstract: A computer network device (such as an access point, a switch or a router) that has multiple user interfaces is described. During operation, the computer network device may execute program instructions for the user interfaces and a shared messaging module, where a given user interface includes an agent corresponding to an application. When a message associated with the application is received via a user interface in the user interfaces, the corresponding agent in the user interface may extract a command or operation from the message. Then, the shared messaging module may translate the command or operation into a common format of the application. Moreover, the shared messaging module may provide (or route) the translated command or operation addressed to the application via a single communication path associated with the application and the agents for the application in the user interfaces.

Abstract: A network access device is configured to propagate Quality of Service (QoS) management through a heterogenous network. A Mirrored Stream Classification Service (MSCS) setup request having MSCS information or MSCS information that is proxied to a next hop in an uplink is received. The MSCS information identifies at least one traffic flow associated with a first user priority. A downlink rule is generated that matches the first user priority in the MSCS information in the uplink to a downlink traffic flow. The downlink rule is used to analyze the downlink traffic flow to match the MSCS information in the downlink that is the mirror of the MSCS information in the uplink. The user priority is applied to the downlink that mirrors the MSCS information in the uplink.
