Abstract:
The invention relates to a system and method for processing clusters of poultry viscera, at least comprising a gizzard. The method comprises conveying the clusters of viscera in a suspended manner, pulling the gizzard of each cluster of viscera, while the latter are being conveyed in a suspended manner, over two elongate scraper bodies which rotate about respective rotation axes, each of the scraper bodies comprising at least one scraper element, wherein, due to the rotation of the two scraper bodies, gizzard fat which is present on a gizzard wall is separated from the gizzard by the scraper elements while the gizzard is being pulled, and collecting the gizzard fat which has been separated from the gizzard of the successive clusters of viscera.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cover for a poultry container for holding live poultry, comprising: two substantially parallel guides; plural longitudinal supports, on opposite sides moveable connected to the guides; a flexible cover sheet, connected to the longitudinal supports; wherein the parallel guides are provided with preferred holding locations for preferred positioning of the longitudinal supports onto the guides. The invention also relates to a poultry container including such a cover as well as to a poultry container assembly of plural stacked poultry containers.
Abstract:
A method for eviscerating slaughtered poultry having a carcass (1) with a viscera pack (19) in a body cavity of the carcass, wherein the body cavity has been opened at the vent end. The method comprises: - retaining the carcass in an orientation with the neck end downwards, - entering the body cavity of the retained carcass with an eviscerating tool (40) via the opened vent end, said eviscerating tool having a front end (41), - dipping the eviscerating tool deeper into the body cavity with its front end passing along the breast side (4) of the body cavity so that the front end thereof moves past the viscera pack at least till beyond the liver (15), - withdrawing the eviscerating tool (40) and thereby lifting the viscera pack (19) out of the body cavity. Use is made of a gizzard pre-lifting tool (60;90), distinct from the eviscerating tool (40), which is entered into the body cavity of the retained carcass via the opened vent end, which gizzard pre-lifting tool is operated to grasp the gizzard (14) and/or belly fat (17) bonded to the gizzard and which gizzard pre-lifting too is operated to lift the gizzard thereby entraining a further portion (15,16) of the viscera pack, said lifting of the gizzard being performed prior to the front end of the eviscerating tool passing along the breast side of the body cavity past the liver (15) as the eviscerating tool (40) is dipped into the body cavity.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pre-evisceration device and a method for preparing the evisceration of beheaded slaughtered poultry, wherein the viscera pack is to be eviscerated from the vent end. Aneck slitting knife makes a neck slit along the neck at the breast side of the poultry. Apre-evisceration release tool is adapted to be inserted via the neck slit between the esophagus and trachea and the naturally surrounding tissue, and to be moved along the neck to loosen said at least part of the trachea and esophagus adhering to said neck. The pre-evisceration tool releases, prior to evisceration, part of the esophagus and trachea at the neck side of the crop between a position adjacent the crop, at the neck side thereof, and the neck opening.
Abstract:
The invention pertains to a wishbone separator device for separating a wishbone from a poultry carcass, comprising: -a primary wishbone cutter comprising: -a front cutter portion comprising a central front apex, a left and a right front cutting edge, which diverge from said central front apex, -a wishbone limb cutter portion, comprising a left and a right limb cutting edge, wherein an intersection point of an extension of the left limb cutting edge and an extension of the right limb cutting edge is arranged on a center line parallel to the cutting direction through the central front apex, and wherein the left and right front cutting edge are arranged forward of the left and right limb cutting edge, respectively as seen in the cutting direction and outward relative to said imaginary extension line from the leftand right limb cutting edge, respectively.
Abstract:
The invention provides a device and a method for processing slaughter animals, in particular slaughtered poultry such as chickens, and/or parts thereof. The device comprises a driving system for driving an element to be driven of the device. The, driving system comprises a driving element, a transfer element, which is driven by the driving element in use and which is rigidly connected during normal operation to the element to be driven, as well as overload protection means which are configured to rigidly connect the processing element and the transfer element during normal operation and to allow relative movement between the processing element and the transfer element in an overload situation if a force that acts between the processing element and the transfer element exceeds a threshold value. The overload protection means comprise a first connecting element forming part of one of the transfer element and the element to be driven and a second connecting element forming part of the other one of the transfer element and the element to be driven, wherein the first connecting element is configured as a first magnet element (36) and the second connecting element is either magnetisable or configured as a second magnet element.
Abstract:
The invention pertains to a device for separating at least one leg part (1) from a carcass part of slaughtered poultry, wherein the device comprises: • - a main conveyor, which main conveyor comprises a plurality of carriers (10), each carrier being adapted to engage a carcass parts by or in the vicinity of the free ends of the leg parts, the main conveyor being provided with a drive for moving the carriers along a path, • - a hip dislocator assembly, which is adapted to dislocate the hip joints in such a way that after said dislocation, a tissue connection remains between each leg part and the saddle, and adapted to disengage the leg parts from the carrier of the main conveyor, • - a saddle support guide (32), which is adapted for supporting the saddle of the carcass part after the carcass part has become disengaged from the carrier of the main conveyor, • - a leg separator (40) comprising two leg grippers (41), each leg gripper comprising a leg gripping slot that is adapted for engaging a leg part, wherein the leg grippers are adapted to induce a downward pulling movement of the leg parts relative to the saddle, thereby tearing loose the tissue connection between each leg part and the saddle such that the leg parts are separated from the saddle.
