Abstract:
Devices used to provide transseptal access are disclosed. The devices may comprise at least one cannula, a needle, and a handle. The cannula and the needle may be configured to be inserted through a dilator while not damaging a lumen wall of the dilator. The handle may be configured to lock the needle in a retracted position. The devices may be configured to telescopically advance the needle through an atrial septum.
Abstract:
Syringe systems including barrels having lubricated portions and non-lubricated portions are provided. The non-lubricated portions may be configured to be loaded with injectable materials, such as embolic agents. The injectable materials may comprise polyvinyl alcohol. Also provided are methods of lubricating portions of barrels of syringe systems with lubricants including silicone or silicone-free lubricants.
Abstract:
Coverings for syringe plunger tips, as well as syringes and syringe components including such coverings, are disclosed. A material of the covering may have at least one different material property than a material of the plunger tip. The coverings may provide a reduced coefficient of friction between the covering and a surface of the syringe relative to the coefficient of friction between the plunger tip and the syringe surface. The coverings may also isolate a substance loaded in the syringe from the plunger tip. Methods for manufacturing a syringe assembly including such coverings, as well as methods for isolating a substance in a syringe from a syringe component, are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A medical device, assembly, or kit may be used to hold a plurality of elongate medical instruments, such as guidewires, catheters, etc. A guidewire holder may include a reservoir for holding a liquid and one or more separators for segregating the guidewires from each other. In some instances, the guidewire holder can hold a coiled guidewire such that the guidewire is in contact with liquid held by the reservoir.
Abstract:
Hub assemblies that include a first hub and a second hub can be used to selectively couple and uncouple medical device components to and from each other without rotating the first hub relative to the second hub. Some hub assemblies can include a dilator that includes a dilator hub and an introducer sheath that includes an introducer sheath hub.
