Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention is directed towards an aqueous lubricant composition comprising hyaluronic acid, organic acid, salts and water, and has a pH of between 5.5 and 7.0 and an osmolality between about 150 and 1,500 mOsm/kg. The lubricant surprisingly has long-lasting lubricity and low osmolality as compared to conventional lubricants on the market.
Abstract:
A method for forming a thickened lubricant, such as a grease, comprises forming polymer fibres having a diameter between 50 nanometres and 10 microns, more preferably between 100 nanometres and 1 micron, and depositing the polymer fibres into a lubricating fluid. The polymer fibres may be immediately deposited into the lubricating fluid upon being formed, such that the polymer fibres remain un-adhered to each other and the lubricating fluid rapidly cools the polymer fibres. A thickened lubricant formed according to this method is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for using a water-based fluid composition to lubricate metal-metal surfaces in contact with each other in a non-hydraulic system, wherein at least one of the metal surfaces is moving. The invention also relates to a water-based fluid composition for use as a lubricant in the described method.
Abstract:
A lubricant for a run-flat tire system includes a water soluble, or water-miscible carrier, a thickener, and a surfactant. The thickener hereof retains its rheological properties and is not subject to permanent thinning shear. The base fluid is, preferably, a water-soluble polyhydroxyl or other polyhydric compound and the thickener is preferably a clay. When admixed with a surfactant and, optionally, a lubricity agent, the lubricant exhibits long term stability and (is resistant to heat buildup.) prevents the buildup of heat in the tire assembly when the tire is in the run flat condition.
Abstract:
The disclosure concerns an aqueous lubricant composition, characterized in that it comprises of: 50wt % of water, 0.01-20 wt % of a thickening agent, 0.5-10 wt % of an antioxidant; 0.5-5 wt% of a pH regulating agent; and glycerol. There is also provided a method for manufacturing the aqueous lubricant composition, and uses of said aqueous lubricant composition.
Abstract:
A method for joining tubulars that includes preparing a fast-setting epoxy compound, wherein the preparing comprises: mixing a first micro-crystalline filler into an epoxidized glycerol fatty ester, mixing a titanium oxide, a first talc, and a flatting agent into the first mixture, mixing a hydrocarbon resin into the second mixture, and mixing a hardenable epoxide containing liquid to form an epoxy base. A second micro-crystalline filler, a second talc, and a glycidyl ether are mixed into a phthalocyanine, a hybrid reactive polyamide is mixed into this mixture, a modified aliphatic amine is mixed into the resulting mixture, and a methylamino accelerator is added to form an epoxy accelerator. Substantially equal portions of the epoxy base and the epoxy accelerator are mixed to form the fast-setting epoxy compound.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a novel emulsified composition comprising (a) major amount of an aqueous phase, (b) a minor amount of an organic phase and (c) a minor but effective amount of at least one emulsifier to emulsify the aqueous and organic phase resulting in a water in oil emulsified lubricants, in particular an emulsified greases. Further, the present invention provides a process for making the emulsified compositions.
