Abstract:
Systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for paging of low complexity UE and/or UE in coverage enhancement mode are provided. One method includes producing a machine type communication (MTC) physical downlink control channel (M-PDCCH) configuration by configuring separate M-PDCCH subsets for paging. One of the subsets may be for low complexity user equipment, and another one of the subsets may be for user equipment operating in coverage enhancement mode.
Abstract:
A method is provided. The method includes entering offnetwork mode in a push to talk (PTT) communication session; generating a priority attributes table, each entry in the table associated with one of a plurality of UEs participating in the PTT communication session; receiving data to be transmitted to the other UEs participating in the PTT communication session; determining whether the floor is available based on the entries in the priority attributes table; upon determining the floor is available, transmitting the data to the other UEs in the PTT communication session; and upon determining the floor is not available, waiting for the floor to become available.
Abstract:
A network-to-network interface (NNI) device, including at least one push-to-talk (PTT) interface adapter, a processor connected to the at least one PTT interface adapter, and a non-transitory computer readable medium connected to the processor. The non-transitory computer readable medium has stored thereon instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the NNI device to receive a first PTT communication in a first PTT format through the at least one PTT interface adapter from a first PTT system, translate the first PTT communication into a second PTT communication in one or more second PTT formats, and transmit the second PTT communication through the at least one PTT interface adapter to one or more second PTT systems
Abstract:
Embodiments include a system, method, and computer program product that enable intelligent formation and management of dynamic talk groups. Embodiments include a discretionary sharing mechanism based on invitation and acceptance that allows for dynamic publication or sharing of information in real time among agencies responding to an incident, where the agencies may establish secure communications. Additional embodiments include establishing and associating geographic boundaries of incident sites with talk groups, monitoring conditions that trigger warning messages sent to talk group members, and subscriptions to information channels that allow multimedia information to flow into talk groups.
Abstract:
An architecture framework to realize Push-to-X services using cloud-based storage services. Push-to-X messages are transmitted between mobile units by messaging servers. The Push-to-X message may include a short text message contained wholly within the Push-to-X message, or the Push-to-X message may include one or more attachments that comprise multimedia contents, files, or location information, which are stored on storage servers, wherein the Push-to-X message identifies a location for retrieving the attachments from the storage servers. The Push-to-X messages may be sent to a single mobile unit identified by a Mobile Directory Number (MDN) or a group of mobile units identified by a list of MDNs or a Uniform Resource Identifier (URI).
Abstract:
In an embodiment, a communication device (e.g., a current floor arbitrator of the session, a proxy device, etc.) records a floor arbitration history that tracks one or more floor grants and one or more floor denials that occur while a first device is performing a floor arbitration function for the communication session with the communication group, and transmits some or all of the floor arbitration history to a second device during the communication session. The second device (e.g., a new floor arbitrator for the session, a late or re-joining participant to the communication session, etc.) participates in the communication session based at least in part upon the received floor arbitration history (e.g., by factoring the received floor arbitration history into future floor-related decisions, by selectively requesting particular missed portions of the communication session, etc.).
Abstract:
A method and system for direct mode operation (DMO) of a talkgroup enables device to device (D2D) DMO operation leveraged from a Land Mobile Radio (LMR) system. The method includes scanning at a radio receiver a defined radio frequency spectrum; receiving at the radio receiver in the defined radio frequency spectrum a wake-up signal; identifying a talkgroup identifier in the wake-up signal, wherein the talkgroup identifier corresponds to a talkgroup being monitored by the radio receiver; in response to identifying the talkgroup identifier, decoding code sequences included in the wake-up signal; identifying in at least one of the code sequences both a center frequency and a transmission bandwidth of the DMO transmission; and tuning the radio receiver to receive the DMO transmission at the center frequency and transmission bandwidth.
