Abstract:
For each audio pairing broadcast from an electronic device, reporting broadcasted pairing data including: broadcaster device group, broadcast data element, and broadcaster volume setting. For each reception, reporting received pairing data, including: receiver device group, received data element, and received signal score. Matching each received pairing data with zero or one instances of broadcasted pairing data based on a received data element matching the broadcast data element. For each broadcaster reporting a particular group and volume setting, identifying a received signal score value corresponding to a predetermined percentile of a density distribution of such scores matching broadcasters of the particular group. Determining, for each broadcaster of the group, a volume based on: the received signal score corresponding to the predetermined percentile and a reference received signal score. Transmitting, to each broadcaster of the group, instructions to conform the broadcasting device to the determined volume setting.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and system for providing ad hoc venue-cast content to a plurality of receiving access terminals within a venue boundary. Ad hoc content may be generated at an access terminal (201), transmitted to a venue-cast server (204, 205), and broadcast to a plurality of venue-cast receiving access terminals (207) within a venue. In addition to broadcasting the ad hoc content, a notification is given to the plurality of receiving access terminals, notifying them regarding the availability of the ad hoc content.

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for obtaining content distributed to a wireless communications device is provided. The method may comprise receiving, by a wireless communications device (WCD), a first content item distributed by a first service provider, obtaining a bookmark, wherein the bookmark couples at least one WCD operation identifying item to the first content item, transmitting, from the WCD, to a second service provider, a content item request coupled to the bookmark, and receiving, from the second service provider, a second content item associated with the first content item through the transmitted content item request and the bookmark.
Abstract:
The present invention refers to a content sharing system for media player devices such as mobile phones, PDAs, MP4, portable music players, etc., being the object of which to make possible identification in a first media player device that enables visual recognition by a second user from a short or from a long distance who might wish to tune in to the first user's content transmission channel. Therefore, a quick selection of the first user's channel in the second user's device is made possible and the sharing of the channel for transmission and reception of content such as audio and video can easily occur.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of communicating between two devices, wherein these devices receive a signal requesting a second device to play a first broadcast audio/video content being played by a first device. The method comprises a step of generating a fingerprint of the first broadcast audio/video content being played on said first device and a series of fingerprints of a series of broadcast audio/video contents received by the second device; and a step of identifying said first broadcast audio/video content from said series of broadcast audio/video contents in accordance with said fingerprint of the first broadcast audio/video content and said series of fingerprints.
Abstract:
A portable electronic communications apparatus comprises a processing resource (202) operably coupled to a Radio Data System communications unit (254). The processing resource (202) is also arranged to identify, when in use, a number of available frequencies capable of serving as a number of Alternative Frequencies, respectively. The processing resource (202) communicates on a tuned frequency first Radio Data System data identifying the number of Alternative Frequencies. A data store (214) is also operably coupled to the processing resource (202). The Radio Data System communications unit (254) is arranged to re-tune, when in use, from the tuned frequency to another frequency of the number of available frequencies and to communicate on the another frequency second Radio Data System data, the re-tuning being supplemental to any re-tuning initiated as a result of inadequate signal strength associated with the tuned frequency. The number of Alternative Frequencies is kept below a certain maximum. The apparatus can be a navigation system.
Abstract:
A method to create community channels is provided. The method includes defining a subset of channels from a broadcast network, associating one or more tags with the channels, and employing the tags to enable a community network from the broadcast network.
