Abstract:
An apparatus in a network function comprising at least one processor and at least one memory including computer code for one or more programs, the at least one memory and the computer code configured, with the at least one processor, to cause the apparatus at least to: determine that a protocol data unit session for a user equipment is to be updated to add or modify multicast information; and provide multicast context information associated with said user equipment which causes said user equipment to receive multicast data associated with said multicast context information.
Abstract:
There is provided mechanisms for multimedia broadcast multicast service (MBMS) bearer handling in a group communications system. A method is performed by a control node. The method comprises obtaining a need for a new MBMS bearer to be activated. The method comprises activating the new MBMS bearer. The method comprises announcing MBMS bearer identity and complementary service announcement information of the new MBMS bearer on an already announced MBMS bearer, thereby announcing the new MBMS bearer.
Abstract:
A method and device for reducing the interruption in a first download, i.e. ongoing reception, caused by the start of a second download, i.e. incoming transmission, by identifying the next due timing of a control channel frame of the first download, and then triggering a sequence of deactivation of the first download, requesting a frequency path switch, performing the frequency path switch, reconfiguring and reactivating the control channel, wherein the sequence takes place at a specified time before the identified control channel frame, and then reactivating the first download.
Abstract:
Dynamic forward error correction (FEC) setting is discussed in which the network determines a FEC percentage for each video segment of a video streaming service, based on consideration of the transfer length of the video segment and the allocated bandwidth. When the transfer length and allocated bandwidth reflect transmission of less than peak bandwidth, the network will determine a higher FEC percentage that uses the otherwise wasted bandwidth to transmit additional redundancy symbols. The additional redundancy symbols increase the error recovery rate when collisions occur between streaming video reception and page monitoring occasions of other networks in multi-network, multi- subscriber identification module (SIM) mobile devices. A network entity may then transmit the dynamic FEC percentage for each video segment in the file description table (FDT) associated with the video streaming service.
