    Abstract: An induction cooking system (10) with an induction heating system (50), a cooktop (40), and cool touch cookware (20) that has a target layer (24) that is heated by induction. An absolute cookware temperature is directly sensed (31) at one or more locations of the cookware, for example at the target layer (24). A relative cookware temperature can be determined based on the value of an electrical variable of a circuit that includes the target layer (24). The cookware (20) can include a layer of thermal insulation (28) directly below and spaced from the target layer (24) by a gap. The insulation (28) and gap act as the major heat insulating elements to keep the outer surface (27) of the cookware (20) cool. This allows the induction coil (52) to be placed just below the cooktop (40), without any insulation between the coil (52) and the cooktop (40). The cooktop (40) can be cooled by placing a cooling chamber (136) just below the cooktop (40) and drawing air through the cooling chamber (136). The induction coil (52, 130) can be located in the cooling chamber (136).

    Abstract: To determine the relative position of movable portions of an assembly, a first magnetic device is coupled to a first portion of the assembly. The first magnetic device has a sensing surface with a number of magnetic poles that provide a magnetization state transition location. An absolute position sensor with a two-state output is coupled to the assembly adjacent the first magnetic device. The output state changes when a magnetization state transition of the first magnetic device moves past the absolute position sensor. A second magnetic device is coupled to the assembly. The second magnetic device creates a cyclically-varying magnetic field proximate its sensing surface. An incremental position sensor is coupled to the assembly adjacent the second magnetic device, and has an output that varies continuously relative to magnetic field angle over at least a portion of one cycle of the cyclically-varying magnetic field of the second magnetic device.

    Abstract: An ANR circuit, possibly of a personal ANR device and possibly within an ADC of the ANR circuit, feedback reference data, feedforward reference data and/or pass-through audio data is provided to a secondary downsampling (and/or decimating) filter and/or is provided to a calculating block (e.g., RMS or absolute calculation block) to derive side-chain data to be output by the ANR circuit to a processing device coupled to the ANR circuit to employ the side-chain data in an analysis related to the provision of feedback-based ANR, feedforward-based ANR and/or pass-through audio by the ANR circuit. In an ANR circuit of a personal ANR device, a digital filter is structured to introduce one or more zeros to add gain to introduce positive phase in the provision of feedback-based ANR, wherein the gain follows a frequency-dependent "ski-slope" gain curve with little gain added at lower audible frequencies, with increasing gain that increases with frequency added at higher audible frequencies, and with the increasing gain flattening at frequencies above audible frequencies.
