摘要: A system includes a light source to generate an optical signal having a set of pulses at a first repetition rate. The system also includes a multiplexer circuit to generate a multiplexed optical signal from the optical signal n sets of pulses at a second repetition rate, where the n sets of pulses have different polarization states and are at the first repetition rate. The system also includes a focusing unit to split the multiplexed optical signal into n excitation signals to excite a sample. The system also includes an objective to receive the n excitation signals and to illuminate the sample. The objective and the focusing unit collectively focus each excitation signal of the n excitation signals on a different focal plane of the sample to generate a response signal. The system also includes a demultiplexer circuit to generate n emission signals based on the response signal.

摘要: A three-dimensional imaging system includes at least one light source, a circular or elliptical polarization beamsplitter, a detector arrangement and an image processor. The light source is configured to provide light in a first circular or elliptical polarization state onto an object to be imaged. The circular or elliptical polarization beamsplitter is arranged to spatially separate the light reflected from an object into a first reflected portion in the first polarization state and a second reflected portion in the second polarization state. The first and second circular or elliptical polarization states are orthogonal to one another. The detector arrangement detects at least the first reflected portion of the light and the image processor is configured to generate image information from the detected first reflected portion.

摘要: An optical system including at least a first lens, a partial reflector and a reflective polarizer is described. The optical system has an optical axis such that a light ray propagating along the optical axis passes through the first lens the partial reflector and the reflective polarizer without being substantially refracted. At least one major surface of the optical system is rotationally asymmetric about the optical axis. A major surface of the optical system may have a first portion defined by a first equation and a second portion adjacent the first portion defined by a different equation. The first lens may have a contoured edge adapted to be placed adjacent an eye of a viewer and substantially conform to the viewer's face.

摘要: A thermoformed multilayer reflective polarizer substantially rotationally symmetric about an optical axis passing thorough an apex of the thermoformed multilayer reflective polarizer and convex along orthogonal first and second axes orthogonal to the optical axis is described. The thermoformed multilayer reflective polarizer has at least one first location having a radial distance r1 from the optical axis and a displacement s1 from a plane perpendicular to the optical axis at the apex, where s1/r1 is at least 0.2. The thermoformed multilayer reflective polarizer may have at least one inner layer substantially optically uniaxial at at least one first location away from the apex. For an area of the reflective polarizer defined by s1 and r1, a maximum variation of a transmission axis of the reflective polarizer may be less than about 2 degrees.

First second and third optical lenses, a partial reflector, a multilayer reflective polarizer and a quarter wave retarder are disposed between the image surface and the stop surface. A plurality of major surfaces are disposed between the image surface and the stop surface with each major surface convex toward the image surface along orthogonal first and second axes. At least six different major surfaces have six different convexities.
