Abstract: In embodiments, an additive manufacturing apparatus (100) comprises a chassis assembly and a skin at least partially covering the chassis assembly. The chassis assembly comprises a lower chassis section secured to a low voltage chassis section (608); an upper environmental chassis section (602) secured to and extending over the low voltage chassis section and the lower chassis section; a high voltage chassis section (606) secured to the upper environmental chassis section and the lower chassis section; and a build receptacle carriage (624) adjustably coupled to the lower chassis section. The skin comprises first and second doors providing access to the low voltage chassis section and the high voltage chassis section; a rear panel providing access to the upper environmental chassis section; a top panel covering a top of the upper environmental chassis section; and at least one hinged door providing access to the lower chassis section.

Abstract: The present device has been designed as a 3D printer for semi-industrial applications by using fused deposition modeling (FDM). The fixed-bed configuration allows for reducing vibration errors on workpiece caused by moving beds while the specially designed mounting brackets facilitate changing all stepper motors on every axis. In addition, multiple stepper motors have been included along each axis to reduce step-out errors, and each component has been connected to a separate power supply in order to attenuate noise and improve production time. All these factors together allow for easily removing its mixed heat bed from the head to use the device simultaneously in 3D printing, CNC turning, and laser cutting.

Abstract: In one example, a three-dimensional (3D) printing method is disclosed. The 3D printing method may partition an entirety of a powder bed into a plurality of portions including a first portion and a second portion.
