Abstract:
The invention concerns a controlling device (10) having terminals for connection to an electrical circuit (11) comprising: - a first user device (12) energized by a first voltage power supply and configured to switch between at least an on-state and an off-state, - a second user device (13) configured to be connected in series with the first device (12) and energized by a second voltage or current power supply, the controlling device (10) being configured to be connected in parallel of the first user device (12) and to: - absorb a leakage current flowing through the electrical circuit (11) below a first predetermined threshold, and - control the voltage or current between the terminals of the controlling device (10), so as to ensure that the second user device (13) is supplied with the second voltage or current.
Abstract:
A microphone (4) and a loudspeaker (5) are connected to processing means (7, 12) provided with connection means (8) for communicating bidirectionally with an external unit of the system. A switching device (28) functionally interposed between the microphone (4) and the processing means (7, 12) can be switched between a first position, in which the microphone (4) is physically disconnected from a communication interface (24) for connection to a computer network, and is connected to the connection means (8) via the processing means (7, 12), and a second position, in which the microphone (4) is connected to the communication interface (24) via a respective amplifier (32) and the processing means (7, 12). The processing means (7, 12) are programmed to sample the audio signal of the microphone (4), when the switching device (28) is in the second position, and transmit it over the computer network via the communication interface (24) for subsequent processing, as well as to receive from the computer network audio streams in digital format, convert them to analog format, and play them back on the loudspeaker (5).
Abstract:
Condominium multimedia communication system (100) that comprises: - a server (101); - at least one primary device (102) installed in a common compartment of a condominium building, associated to the condominium building address and connected to an intercom system (108) of the condominium building and configured to receive communications from said server (101); and - at least one secondary device (103) installed in at least one property of the condominium building, connected to a condominium intercoms system (108) and configured to receive communications from the primary device (102); The primary device (102) and the secondary device (103) are provided with at least one emergency button (109) configured to make a phone call to emergency phone numbers automatically communicating the condominium building address and house number and with at least one touch screen (104, 104a), at least one loudspeaker (105, 105a), at least one microphone (106, 106a) and at least one video camera (107, 107a).
Abstract:
The present embodiments solve the problem of low-quality stored footage from video stream by storing copies of data packets at a local storage device of the A/V recording and communication device. The locally stored data is subsequently (e.g, after the live stream has terminated) uploaded to a remote storage device. If any data packets are lost during the upload process, those lost data packets can be re-sent from the local storage device to the remote storage device so that the complete recording can be stored at the remote storage device. The subsequent upload process may, in some embodiments, comprise a reliable data transfer protocol.
Abstract:
A method and device for generating alerting sounds and broadcasting the same into the interior of a building so that an occupant can be made aware of the presence of a visitor at a door to the building. The sounds are generated by an exciter feature of a transducer held in a case, able to be gripped in one hand of a user, the exciter feature being able to be pressed against an exterior surface of the door by the user moving the case to a position adjacent to the door. The transducer vibrates its exciter feature in correspondence with audio signals transmitted to the transducer to broadcast corresponding sounds into the interior of the building by resonance induced in the door by the vibrating exciter feature. The sounds can resemble conventional alerting sounds such as a knocking or ringing sounds, and/or can be a spoken message either prerecorded in an audio source or created contemporaneously by being spoken by the user into a microphone. The device may be hand carried door to door as by delivery personnel and emergency workers and used to effectively alert occupants and eliminate the need for hand knocking or yelling a message through the door.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are provided for enabling NFC communications between a user of an NFC device and a recipient. In particular, an NFC device user may present an NFC device to an NFC tag associated with at least one recipient to initiate an intercom- style communication. The intercom-style communication between the user and the at least one recipient may be facilitated, and even terminated, based on rules stored in memory. Various levels of security may be implemented to prevent attempted communications between unapproved users of NFC devices and recipients. In addition, aspects of the present disclosure anticipate that security rules may be used to grant or deny access to a secured asset.
Abstract:
A nurse call station and system capable of scalable accommodating a plurality of wireless nodes by incorporating a dual band of 900 MHz and 2.4 GHz for use in transmission and repeating an identification signal. The nurse call system is comprised of various components that includes but is not limited to gateway nodes, transmitter nodes, repeaters, end nodes and locators. Transmitter nodes may be comprised of various transmitter styles including wireless check in stations, wireless emergency call stations and resident bed stations.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An event notifying method includes determining whether a current home network, which is currently connected to a remote user interface server (RUIS) in a home network, is a user's home network selected by a user so as to be allowed to be notified of the event, selectively providing an event page to a remote user interface client (RUIC) selected by a user in the user's home network, and performing user authentication prior to providing the event page, thereby ensuring security of the user's private information.
