Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for a virtual intercom. In some implementations, a request from a visitor device to communicate with an occupant of a particular unit of the facility is received. A location of the visitor device is received. Based on the received location, it is determined that the visitor device is within a predetermined bounded area. An occupant profile is identified based on the received request. Information associated with the occupant profile is obtained. Based on the obtained information, it is determined the occupant has registered a profile. Based on the obtained information, a communication path to an occupant device is identified. The request from the visitor device is sent, using the communication path, to an occupant device belonging to the occupant. A response from the occupant device is received. Based on the response, an action is performed.

A door assembly includes a door, an electronic locking mechanism, and a camera system. The electronic locking mechanism is coupled to the door. The electronic locking mechanism has a first transceiver configured to facilitate wireless communication with a first external device via a first wireless communication protocol. The camera system is disposed within the door. The camera system has a second transceiver configured to facilitate wireless communication with a second external device via a second wireless communication protocol that is different than the first wireless communication protocol.

A method of detecting and responding to a visitor to a smart home environment via an electronic greeting system of the smart home environment, including determining that a visitor is approaching an entryway of the smart home environment; initiating a facial recognition operation while the visitor is approaching the entryway; initiating an observation window in response to the determination that a visitor is approaching the entryway; obtaining context information from one or more sensors of the smart home environment during the observation window; and at the end of the time window, initiating a response to the detected approach of the visitor based on the context information and/or an outcome of the facial recognition operation.

A mobile intercom device is described that is configured to facilitate the assignment and reassignment of functions during use. A plurality of button pairs, each including a talk button and a listen button, and a display screen are provided on the mobile intercom device. An electronic processor of the mobile intercom device is configured to display a list of alphanumeric identifiers on the display screen, each alphanumeric identifier in the list of alphanumeric identifiers corresponding to a different one of a plurality of channels on the intercom system. A selection of a first alphanumeric identifier from the list is received and a channel on the intercom system corresponding to the first alphanumeric identifier is assigned to a first button pair of the plurality of button pairs.

An intercom device and a method of recording an audio stream at the intercom device. The intercom device includes a user interface, a memory, and an electronic processor. The electronic processor is communicatively coupled to the user interface and the memory and is configured to receive a user-selectable entry from an input mechanism of the user interface. The electronic processor sets an away mode of the intercom device in response to the user-selectable entry. An audio stream is received by the intercom device from another intercom device. Are cord signal indicative of a request to record the audio stream is also received from the another intercom device. The intercom device records the audio stream in the memory in response to receiving the record signal when operating in the away mode.

A system and method for carrying a downstream optical signal and an upstream optical signal on a fiber optic link is disclosed. The system and method includes a first transceiver unit that receives an input communication signal from at least one external communication device at an electrical input port, a transmitter that converts the input communication signal into an optical signal and transmits the optical signal as an downstream optical signal on a fiber optic link, a receiver at the second transceiver unit that receives the downstream optical signal and converts the downstream optical signal into an electrical communication signal, and a first circuit in the second transceiver unit that determines whether the second transceiver couples the electrical communication signal to a two wire intercom circuit or a four wire intercom circuit.

Sistema de armazenamento de dados e localização de pessoas via chamada telefónica, notadamente de um sistema (S) capaz de localizar pessoas como moradores de um condomínio, via ligações telefónicas para celular "GSM", fixos "analógicos ou digitais E1" e VOIP "voz por IP" em que o banco de dados criptografado é alimentado pelos próprios condóminos por meio de mensagens de texto SMS ou por conexão segura via IP utilizando-se de login e senha, que devidamente programado o próprio sistema direciona a chamada para os telefones fixos ou móveis dos moradores, sem a intervenção de terceiros, oferecendo maior privacidade e garantia da segurança dos dados telefónicos.

Die vorliegende Erfindung offenbart ein Hauskommunikationsendgerät für eine Hauskommunikationsanlage mit einer Kommunikationsschnittstelle, mit einem Betriebsdatenspeicher, welcher dazu ausgebildet ist, Betriebsdaten für das Hauskommunikationsendgerät zu speichern und mit einer Steuereinrichtung, welche derart ausgebildet ist, über die Kommunikationsschnittstelle Betriebsdaten für das Hauskommunikationsendgerät abzurufen und/oder in den Betriebsdatenspeicher zu speichern und das Hauskommunikationsendgerät mittels der Betriebsdaten zu betreiben. Ferner offenbart die vorliegende Erfindung ein Initialisierungsverfahren für ein Hauskommunikationsendgerät und eine Hauskommunikationsanlage.
