Abstract:
The invention provides a cake board (2), cake card or cake drum blank of card, plastic, insulation material, plywood, chipboard or the like, shaped as required and enveloped in a film of shrink-wrap material (10). The shrink-wrap material (10) may be plastic or plastic like material, e.g. pre-coloured, plasticised mirror foil. Also, the shrink-wrap material (10) may be printed with a patterned or plain silver and/or gold finish to simulate embossed or plain foil. In a further form, the shrink-wrap (10) material may have a hologram, logo or bespoke indicia printed thereon. Typically, cake boards (2), cake cards or cake drums of the invention have a thickness of 4.75 mm to 25.4 mm and the shrink-wrap materials (10) applied thereto have thicknesses of 10 microns to 150 microns. The invention also provides a method of manufacture for the novel cake board. The product of the invention is simpler and more economical to make and use when compared to the manifold products produced hitherto for the same purpose.
Abstract:
Ovenware made from thermoplastic polymeric compositions which have relatively high thermal conductivities has advantages in cooking food. Such compositions can be made by mixing a thermoplastic polymer with a particulate material which has a relatively high thermal conductivity. This composition usually allows faster heating of the food and/or improved browning of the food in contact with the ovenware surface.
Abstract:
A range of damage and wear-susceptible articles, including such as drinkware and flatware, and heat-susceptible articles, have a tough, protective plastic coating applied in sealing, protective relation with a surface portion. The protective coating may hermetically seal underlying decorative material, including toxic materials. Digital ink jet printing may be applied directly or by transfer, including pad transfer. A plastic undercoating incorporating an adhesion promoting additive may first be applied by DIJ printing or by flow coating. The impact resistance of drinking glasses can be improved ten-fold with a hard, visually undetectible 5-mil outer coating selected from polyesters and other polymers, polyurethanes and acrylates having the desired visual, toughness and bonding characteristics. With u.v. curing, high speed economic automated line production, the process is applicable to a wide range of articles.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A cup assembly (10) having an open end (15), comprising: (a) a dual wall cup assembly comprising: (i) an outer cup (11) having a truncated conical-like shape with side wall, larger top and smaller end, the end is closed and sealed by bottom wall (14) and the top is open (15); (ii) an inner cup (12) having a truncated conical-like shape with side wall (13), larger top and smaller end, the end is closed and sealed by bottom wall (17); and (iii) the inner cup is configured to be receivable within the outer cup to create a gap (20) between the bottom walls; and (b) the cup assembly is a child spill-proof cup.
Abstract:
Liquid crystalline polymer parts may be coated with fluoropolymers. The fluoropolymer coated parts are useful in chemical processes equipment and for ovenware.
Abstract:
A multi-ply food container (10). The multi-ply food container (10) has selective reinforcement (24) at the center of the food container (10), and regions of a raised side wall (16) and/or rim (18) which are not reinforced. The reinforcement is preferably done by joining an additional ply (24) to the food container (10).
Abstract:
The present invention provides a bottle with a net at the top for powder and paste foods, and foods packed in the bottle. The foods are sieved by passing through the net at use of the foods at cooking
Abstract:
A container having a neck arrangement including a circular spout (30) and a guiding neck portion with a U-shaped ledge (60). During a pouring operation the ledge directs liquid from the container over the front edge of the spout (78) and permits air to enter the container through the rear portion of the spout (63) and an air passageway (58) connecting the rear of the spout with the inside of the container.
Abstract:
A flat article holder has in various embodiments a flat base or stand and integral sidewalls or a wall which has or have a number of spaced apart separator strips (16, 17) forming slots (18, 19) for holding and dispensing of flat articles, such as single disposable paper serviettes. A rectangular embodiment of the holder has a flat base (10) with a continuous or uninterrupted surface and flat sidewalls (11, 12) and a flat top (13), the walls and top having a number of common separator strips (16, 17) forming slots (18, 19). A semi-rectangular embodiment has a base (110), two sidewalls (111, 112) and a curved top (113) the walls and top have common slots (120, 121). Another embodiment has a semi-circular wall (311) with slots (320, 321). These embodiments may be made and sold as flat blanks of card paper with a tab (322) on one end and a tab-receiving slit (323) adjacent the edge (314) of the other end and may have two tranverse fold lines (325, 326). In the case of the semi-triangular embodiment there is a third transverse, median fold line (327).
