Abstract:
Provided is a low-power wake-up receiver that is sensitive to electric waves, by which power consumed by a radio frequency (RF) transceiver of a sensor node in a ubiquitous sensor network (USN) is minimized. A wake-up receiver waking up a main transceiver includes a duty cycle signal generation unit controlling a duty cycle of a duty cycle signal; a burst signal detection unit receiving an input signal including a burst signal and a data signal based on the duty cycle signal, amplifying the input signal, and, if the amplified input signal is the burst signal, outputting a control signal; and a data signal detection unit re-amplifying the amplified input signal based on the control signal, and, if the re-amplified input signal is the data signal, outputting a wake-up signal. Power supplied to the duty cycle signal generation unit is interrupted based on the control signal and power is re-supplied to the duty cycle signal generation unit based on the wake-up signal.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a method, a computer program product, device, smart card unit and a system for changing a role for data transmission between a apparatus and a smart card unit, wherein in a first state the apparatus acts as host and the smart card unit acts as device and in a second state the apparatus acts as device and the smart card unit acts as host.
Abstract:
A diagnostic system for computers, including a connector interface for connecting the diagnostic system to a PC, a storage medium for storing executable instructions that boot the PC when the diagnostic system is connected to the connector interface, for storing diagnostic testing program code that scans and tests the PC, and for storing a phone number for a remote online help-desk facility, a modem for communicating wirelessly with the online help-desk facility when the PC is not fully operational, and for enabling the remote online help-desk facility to remotely run the diagnostic testing program code on the PC and view the results, an audio subsystem for enabling voice communication between a user and a representative at the remote online help-desk facility, and a processor for controlling the storage medium, the modem and the audio subsystem. A method is also described and claimed.
Abstract:
A two-phased path selection process for wireless mesh networks that promotes stability and power management. If, during a first route discovery phase, a route cannot be found without waking up battery-powered nodes in a wireless mesh network, the source node will wake up battery-powered nodes in the mesh during a second route discovery phase.
Abstract:
The mobile terminal provides information to the secure element (smart card, SIM card, IC card, UICC, etc.) to describes its state and/or any modification thereto. Such information is sent as envelope format messages, which complies with the 3GPP standard. Doing so improves contactless management and allows more interactivity between the mobile terminal and the secure element.
Abstract:
A system for enabling the viewing, distributing and/or manipulation of stored data or applications on a host device when the host device is in a power-save, dormant or other semi-active state. In one embodiment, a peripheral device is provided which runs its own native operating system. When the peripheral device is connected to the host device, which is running a different native operating system, the peripheral device is capable of sharing files that are stored on the host device, thereby permitting the viewing, editing, transferring or other manipulation of the files. In another embodiment, a wireless modem or similar device is integrated into the host device. When the host device enters a power-save or dormant state, a hand-off occurs to the wireless modem such that the files contained on the host device remain accessible.
Abstract:
A method to determine a back-off adjustment and transmission power adjustment in a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU), the method including determining a problem in signal reception and adjusting a back-off and a transmission power based on a plurality of measurement results. The measurement results include common pilot channel received signal code power, received signal strength indicator and uplink interference.
Abstract:
A communication device (300) is capable of supporting communication compliant with a Dual- Mode 2.5G and 3G interface baseband (BB)-radio frequency (RF) interface standard and comprises a data interface (305) operably coupled to a number sub-systems (310, 120) and a clock circuit generating a plurality of clock phases for supporting communication there between. At least one of the number of sub-systems (310, 320) comprises a line driver and a line receiver (430); wherein the communication device (300) is characterised in that the line receiver (430) determines an end of a received data frame sent across the data interface (305) and in response thereto switches itself off.
