Abstract:
A power transfer assembly (2000) for transferring energy within a combustion engine (1010) externally of the engine. The power transfer assembly includes a crankshaft (2006) adapted to convert reciprocating motion to rotating motion. The power transfer assembly further includes an outdrive (2004, 2020, and/or 2026) adapted to transfer the rotating motion of the crankshaft: to an external device requiring power. The outdrive is non-rigidly interfaced with the outdrive such that the crankshaft is permitted to freely rotate relative to the outdrive about at least one axis (2014) and freely move linearly in at least one direction (2027) relative to the outdrive during operation.
Abstract:
A three-position push-pull switch assembly (100) is disclosed that includes two magnetic reed switches (152) mounted to a circuit board (122) located within the switch housing (104, 116). A magnet (130) is mounted to an actuator (114) that extends into the switch housing (104, 116) and is axially translatable from a center position to a pushed in position and a pulled out position. When in the center position, the two magnetic reed switches (152) are in a first closed-open operational state. When force is applied to the actuator shaft (128) to move it into the pushed-in position, the reed switches (152) are in a second closed-open operational state. Similarly, when force is applied to move the actuator shaft (128) to the pulled out position, the magnetic reed switches (152) are in a third closed-open operational state. A detent mechanism maintains the switch assembly in the center position when the actuator shaft (128) is not being pulled or pushed away from that position and returns the switch assembly (100) to the center position after being switched to either the pushed in or pulled out positions to thereby provide momentary push-pull operation.
Abstract:
A ramp assembly (20) having a frame attachable to a vehicle having a floor is disclosed. The ramp assembly further includes a platform coupled to a portion of the frame, a ramp having a weight, and a reciprocating mechanism disposed between the ramp and the platform coupled to a portion of the frame. The ramp assembly also includes a reciprocating mechanism disposed between the ramp and the platform for reciprocating the ramp between a deployed position and a stowed position in response to a load. The reciprocating mechanism counterbalancing the weight of the ramp during actuation of the ramp between the deployed and stowed positions to reduce the load required to reciprocate the ramp between the deployed and stowed positions.
Abstract:
An assembly for placing an insert into communication with an analytical chemical instrument having a first portion of tubing and a second portion of tubing includes a clamp arm assembly having first and second opposable clamp arms and a first fitting subassembly in communication with the first portion of tubing and configured to engage a first portion of an insert, wherein the first fitting subassembly is received within the first clamp arm. The assembly further includes a second fitting subassembly in communication with the second portion of tubing and configured to engage a second portion of the insert, wherein the second fitting subassembly is moveably received within the second clamp arm and biased in a direction toward the first fitting subassembly. Further included is an actuator assembly configured to move the second clamp arm toward the first clamp arm to secure the insert between the first and second fitting subassemblies.
Abstract:
A tensioning device (10) is provided. The tensioning device (10) includes a housing (15) and a first pulley (16) removably coupled to the housing for selective positioning of the first pulley (16) relative to a second pulley (16) to adjust tension associated with a drive element (18) extending between the first and second pulleys (16).
Abstract:
A keyboard assembly is provided. The keyboard assembly includes a keyboard having at least one input key assembly positioned within the housing and an infection controllable apparatus attached thereto.
Abstract:
Cable terminations, junctions, or connectors having a cable affixed therein are provided, which include an internal cavity that is capable of (1) holding a selected volume of remediation fluid and (2) supplying it to the cable. Several embodiments of the cavity are capable of holding the remediation fluid under pressure for prolonged periods of time and through various environmental conditions such as temperature, moisture and sun exposure. Several embodiments of the internal cavity are divided into two or more chambers that are in physical communication through the opposition of pressure but which are chemically isolated. In several embodiments, an actuation device, such as a spring or compressed gas, pressurizes the fluid. Throughout the embodiments, individual access port(s) provide controlled access to the various internal chambers.
Abstract:
A ramp assembly is provided. The ramp assembly includes a ramp platform coupled to a frame, a reciprocating mechanism coupled to the ramp platform for reciprocating movement of the ramp platform between a stowed position and a deployed position, and a dampener coupled to the reciprocating mechanism to dampen loads associated with operation of the ramp platform.
Abstract:
An energy conversion apparatus (10) comprising a heat conductive base (12), a heat insulating cover (14) operable to mate with the base (12) so as to form a sealed space bounded by the cover (14) and the base to prevent ingress of moisture, and a mount (22) inside the space for securing an energy conversion circuit (20) to at least one of the cover (14) and the base (12).
Abstract:
A tie down assembly for a vehicle is provided. The tie down assembly includes a retention body and an anchor assembly. The anchor assembly is slidably disposed within the retention body for reciprocating movement between a release position and a restraint position. The tie down assembly also includes a stop secured to the anchor assembly. The stop is positioned on the anchor assembly for releasably locking with a portion of the retention body when the anchor assembly is in the restraint position.
