    Abstract: An inductive cooktop system includes a top plate for supporting a cookware object and a display disposed vertically below the top plate. A sensor array is disposed between the top plate and the display. An induction coil is disposed vertically below the display, where the induction coil is operable to generate a magnetic field extending above the top plate. A control system receives an input indicating a location of the cookware object on the top plate and determines a first set of pixels of the display corresponding to the location of the cookware. A burner graphic is displayed at a periphery of the first set of pixels at the indicated location for the cookware object. A second set of pixels are identified that are sized to display a control graphic outside of the burner graphic.

    Abstract: A shift actuator for a transmission includes a drive assembly coupled with a selector interface. A transmission selector operates between a plurality of transmission settings. A threaded actuator is rotationally operated by the drive assembly. A carriage linearly operates along the threaded actuator to define a plurality of actuator positions that correspond to the transmission settings. An actuator arm extends between the carriage and the transmission selector to translate linear operation of the carriage to rotational operation of the transmission selector.

    Abstract: A fluid pump includes a motor disposed within an outer housing. The motor includes a stator and a rotor in electromagnetic communication with the stator. Windings are disposed on the stator that receive an electric current for defining the electromagnetic communication. A pump element is attached to the rotor via a drive shaft. The pump element operates with the rotor to deliver a fluid through a hydraulic fluid path. A plurality of sensors measure information related to at least one of the stator, the windings, the rotor, the pump element, the fluid and the hydraulic fluid path. A controller is in communication with the windings for delivering the electric current to the windings. The controller is also in communication with the plurality of sensors for measuring and recording the information and communicating this information to one of an external memory and an external controller.

An artificial feel positioner defines a plurality of artificial feel positions that correspond to selectable positions of the selector interface. The plurality of artificial feel positions are connected via a screw channel that helically extends along the artificial feel positioner.     Abstract: An inductive cooktop includes a transparent panel that supports a cookware object. An electrically actuated panel, such as a display panel, is disposed below the transparent panel. The electrically actuated panel includes two sets of lines, such as data and scan lines, disposed orthogonal to each other to form a two-dimensional matrix that is configured to operate associated elements with an addressing scheme. An array of induction coils are disposed below the electrically actuated panel that are each operable to generate an electromagnetic field that inductively couples with the cookware object supported at the transparent panel. The induction coils are operable to generate an electromagnetic field with a flux direction in general parallel alignment with one set of lines, such as the data lines, to prevent the electromagnetic field from inducing a voltage on the lines.

    Abstract: A steering assembly for a vehicle includes a housing having a signal portion and defining a shaft enclosure. A steering shaft includes a cancellation rib that rotates about a rotational axis and within the shaft enclosure. A trunnion rotates within the signal portion of the housing about a trunnion axis to define a null position and right-turn and left-turn positions. A toggle includes a cancellation member. The toggle axially and rotationally operates with respect to one of the trunnion and the turn-signal housing. The cancellation member in the null position is within the shaft enclosure and axially offset from the cancellation rib. The cancellation member in one of the right-turn and left-turn positions is within the shaft enclosure and axially aligned for selective engagement with the cancellation rib. Selective engagement of the cancellation rib and the cancellation member axially operates the toggle to the null position.

A characteristic of the user may also be identified with a sensor, where the characteristic may correspond with a user profile.     Abstract: A selector assembly includes a housing having a spherical cavity and a detent cavity. A positioning sensor is positioned within a sensor cavity and is in communication with the spherical cavity. A selector operates about a center point of the spherical cavityand includes a spheroid member that slidably engages a guide surface of the housing.The spheroid member includes a magnet in electromagnetic communication with the positioning sensor. A first pivot and a second pivot include respective first and second rotational axes that each extend through the center point. A detent pin is biased towardand slidably engages a detent surface of the detent cavity to define a plurality of selectorpositions of the selector. Operation of the selector within the spherical cavity and along the detent surface defines the plurality of selector positions that are communicated to a controller via the magnet and the positioning sensor.
