Abstract:
The invention relates to multilayer effect pigments having a silver interference color based on laminar transparent substrates having an optically effective coating which comprises at least a) a high-refractive layer A having a refractive index n = 1.8, b) a low-refractive layer B having a refractive index n
Abstract:
The invention relates to pearlescent pigments, comprising a substantially transparent, platelet-shaped substrate, having a density ds, and at least one optically effective coating having a density dM, wherein the substrate has a mean size d50 of n 3 to 8 µm, and a mean height hs of 40 to 110 nm. The invention further relates to a method for the production of the pearlescent pigments, and the use thereof.
Abstract:
The invention relates to effect pigments comprising a plate-shaped substrate that is provided at least on one side with at least one coating of semi-transparent metal and/or at least one highly refractive coating having a refractive index that is = 2.0. The effect pigments are characterised in that the plate-shaped substrate has at least one inorganic/organic mixed phase. The invention also relates to a method for producing said type of effect pigments, consisting of the following steps: a) at least one organic network former and at least one reactive organic component and at least one inorganic network former and/or nanoscale, inorganic particles as well as a liquid phase are mixed, thus forming a reaction composition, b) said reaction composition is placed on a flat substrate, c) a hard inorganic/organic mixing phase is formed, d) the inorganic/organic mixed phase is transformed into plate-shaped substrates, e) the plate-shaped substrates are coated with at least one coating made of semi-transparent metal and/or at least one highly refractive coating having a refractive index that is = 2.0. The invention further relates to the use of effect pigments in lacquers, car paints, coating powders, paints, printing inks, security printing inks, facade coatings, coatings for buildings, plastic materials, ceramic material, glass or cosmetic preparations. The invention further relates to a coating composition that contains the effect pigments and to an object that is provided with the effect pigments or the coating agent containing the effect pigment.
Abstract:
The invention relates to platelet-shaped pearlescent pigments which are coated with at least one mixed inorganic/organic layer for improving their application properties, and in this case, particularly, their mechanical properties, and to a method for the production and use thereof. Said mixed inorganic/organic layer comprises at least one partially cross-linked inorganic metal oxide component and an organic component, which is at least one organic oligomer and/or polymer which is covalently bonded, at least in part, to the inorganic network via crosslinkers. The coating is provided with at least one mixed inorganic/organic layer which contains, at least in part, an inorganic network encompassing one or several inorganic oxide components, and at least one organic component which at least partly represents an organic oligomer and/or polymer that is covalently bonded at least in part to the inorganic network via one or several organic network formers. The invention also relates to a method for producing said type of pearlescent pigments.
Abstract:
The invention relates to surface-modified pearlescent pigments whose surface is provided with at least one organic phosphoric compound of general formula (I) R 1 R 2 P(O)(OR 3 ) and/or general formula (II) R 1 P(O)(OR 3 )(OR 4 ), wherein R 1 and R 2 independently represent hydrogen or an organic radical comprising 1 to 30 C atoms, provided that R 1 and R 2 do not simultaneously represent hydrogen, R 3 and R 4 independently represent H or alkyl comprising 1 to 10 C atoms. The invention further relates to a method for producing said pearlescent pigments and the use thereof.
