본 발명은 천연염료를 사용한 유색 광택 안료 제조 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따르면, 천연 염재로부터 염료를 제조하는 단계, 상기 염료에 무기염 용액을 적정한 후, pH를 조정하여 천연 안료를 제조하는 단계, 금속산화물이 코팅된 기질을 정수에 분산하여 기질 현탁액을 제조하는 단계 및 상기 기질 현탁액에 산도 조절제 및 천연 안료를 투입하여 기질의 표면에 피복하는 단계를 포함한다.

The set contains water-based paint components for forming a water-based paint at the point of sale, distribution or application and includes at least a binder paint component. The set further includes a thickener paint component and at least one special effect paint component containing a special effect pigment.

The present invention relates to a method of producing coloured carrier particles (substrates), which comprises a) dispersing the carrier particles in a solution of a colorant or latent pigment, adding the carrier particles to a solution of a colorant or latent pigment, or adding a latent pigment or a colorant to a dispersion of the carrier particles, b) precipitating the colorant or latent pigment onto the carrier particles, and c) in the case of a latent pigment, subsequently converting it to the pigment, and to the coloured substrates obtainable by such a method, and also to the use thereof. Using the methods according to the invention it is possible to obtain colorations and coloured substrates that have surprisingly good light-fastness properties.

Colored lustrous pigments of superior quality are prepared by dry blending a platy substrate such as a metal oxide-coated mica nacreous pigment and a hydrophobic colorant at low shear. The resulting blend exhibits a well dispersed, stable coloration, increased hydrophobicity and is particularly useful in industrial and automotive applications. The technique can also be employed to prepare pigments for cosmetic application.

The invention relates to liquid crystal chirally nematic polyesters with flexible chains, comprising isosorbide, isomannide, and/or isoidide units. The polyesters are not crystalline and form stable Grandjean textures which freeze on cooling below glass transition temperature. The present invention generally provides a method for increasing the dispersibility of an anionic molecule of interest by (A) reacting the cationic molecue C+ of interest onto the surface of a cationically modified substrate ([Q Q ]) having a high surface area. The present invention further provides for the resulting compositions whereby a cationic molecule of interest has been incorporated onto the surface of cationically modified high surface area substrate and where the resulting cation/ cationically modified substrate composition (such as a cation/organoclay composition) experiences greater dispersibility in a target application system than the anionic molecule of interest alone experiences in that same application system. The method of the present invention further serves to substantially reduce the water solubility of the cationic molecule of interest by incorporating it into a cationically modified high surface area substrate such as an organoclay.
