Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel sequences for use in detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancers, especially lymphomas. The invention provides cancer associated (CA) polynucleotide sequences whose expression is associated with cancer. The present invention provides CA polypeptides associated with cancer that presents novel therapeutic targets against cancer. The present invention further provides diagnostic compositions and methods for the detection of cancer. The present invention provides monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies specific for the CA polypeptides. The present invention also provides diagnostic tools and therapeutic compositions and methods for screening prevention and treatment of cancer.

Abstract:
This invention shows how to make and use a biodiesel-based fuel in diesel engines without incurring the NO x penalty. Embodiments primarily relate to an optimum range of bulk modulus of compressibility for biodiesel blends, which results in generating "NO x neutral" biodiesel blends or to formulate biodiesel blends with lower NO x emissions than conventional petroleum diesel fuel. These biodiesel blends preferably comprise synthetic paraffinic middle distillate derived from a hydrocarbon synthesis to generate synthetic environmentally-friendly diesel fuels.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for isolating normal hepatocytes, the method comprising the steps of: recovering liver tissue from a patient during a hepatectomy; and isolating normal hepatocytes from unwanted cells present in the recovered tissue by magnetic separation. The invention further provides a method of preparing hepatocytes for transplantation, the method comprising the steps of: recovering liver tissue from a patient during a hepatectomy; and isolating normal hepatocytes from unwanted cells present in the recovered tissue by magnetic separation.
Abstract:
This invention relates to certain non-silicone resin cured rubber articles that are made from at least a majority by weight of non-silicone vulcanized rubber that include silver-based compounds to provide highly desirable long-term antimicrobial characteristics within the cured rubber articles. Such articles are in either solid or blown (foam or sponge) state (or combinations of both in multilayered forms) and can be utilized in a variety of different applications. This invention encompasses the presence of non-sulfur-based curing systems and agents, such as resin curing, that permit vulcanization and do not irreversibly bind silver ions thereto, thereby resulting in long-term antimicrobial performance of the ultimate rubber article itself. This invention also encompasses certain non-silicone pre-vulcanized raw rubber formulations made from at least a majority by weight of non-silicone rubber that include silver-based components to provide highly desirable long-term antimicrobial characteristics within the ultimate resin cured rubber articles made therefrom.
Abstract:
Methods for increasing and decreasing male fertility using selective 11beta-HSD1-dehydrogenase, 11beta-HSD1-reductase and 11beta-HSD2 dehydrogenase modulating compounds are described.
Abstract:
The water treatment cartridge (10) is a cartridge adapted to fit into a conventional water filter housing (110) to release a sanitizing dose of a water-treating chemical, and in particular chlorine dioxide, into a water treatment system or unit process. The cartridge (10) is filled with a water treating media (38), comprised preferably of a mixture of an inert filler material and a chemical composition that releases chlorine dioxide on contact with water. The concentration of the chlorine dioxide released into the water, as well as the duration of the release, may be varied by the selection of the filler material and amount of the filler material in the water treating media (38).
