A rack (7) for use as a rack for periodicals and the like can, according to the invention, comprise three rectangular plate elements, i.e. a first plate element (1) with a single cut-out (2), a second element (3) with two cut-outs (2), and a third element (4) similarly with two cut-outs (2) but with double plate length. By means of these three elements (1, 3 and 4), it is possible to set up a rack (7) which is assembled solely by mutual sliding engagement of the cut-outs (2) in the plates to form a right-angled assembly which is totally concealed. With this assembly, the plate edges form a projection, a stop-edge (6), on which the periodicals and brochures and the like can rest when they are placed on the rack's inclined plate element.

Una unidad de construcción tipo placa que comprende un panel de forma rectangular, que comprende un primer lado, un segundo lado, opuesto y paralelo al primer lado, y que comprende un lado superior, que contiene una primera secuencia de caja y espiga, de acuerdo a un primer, segundo o tercer mecanismo de ensamblaje, y un lado inferior, que comprende una segunda secuencia de caja y espiga, de acuerdo a un primer, segundo o tercer mecanismo de ensamblaje, de m4an:era que dos o más unidades de construcción pueden ensamblarse entre sí por sus bordes, mediante un mecanismo de ensamblaje múltiple de dos elementos, para una conexión de tipo L, o de 3 elementos, para una conexión de tipo T, o de 4 elementos, para una conexión de tipo cruz. Una estructura rígida que comprende al menos cuatro unidades de construcción tipo placa que forman una celda de construcción modular prefabricada en donde las unidades de construcción tipo placa están ensambladas entre sí mediante un primer, segundo o tercer mecanismo de ensamblaje en los bordes. Una unidad de construcción estructural que comprende dicha estructura rígida que forma parte como componente de muros y entrepisos. Un método de ensamblaje múltiple de dicha estructura rígida.

A knock down furniture system is presented. The furniture uses joints which bend or twist a panel when inserted into an adjoining panel to place the joint under stress and stiffen the joint. Preferably, tabs are used in combination with offset or rotated slots to achieve the same. The system allows for furniture which does not require fasteners or tools and which is easily assembled while still being stable. Parts of the furniture can be interchanged within a piece of furniture or between different pieces of furniture to customize the configuration of the furniture.

Método de ensamble de piezas planas para la fabricación de mobiliario de uso domestico, que conservan su estructura sin ayuda de dispositivos, valiéndose de la unión de sus partes para este fin, generando un trabajo mecánico que ejercen en conjunto, pudiendo ser armados o desarmados a voluntad y de forma manual. Sus partes están dotadas de ranuras de unión, optimizadas geométricamente para reducir sus tiempos de fabricación. Poseen una terminación de corte semicircular en el fondo de la ranura en sentido contrario a esta, lo que evita tener que hacer una terminación de ángulos rectos, que se traducirían en procesos más costosos y lentos de obtener por medios de corte tradicional. Logrando un ensamble total de las piezas, sin diferencias de altura en los extremos de! eje de intersección, igualando la terminación de corte recto.

A locking system 10 for mechanically joining a plurality of panels 16, 18 or components 12, 14 of an article of construction without the need for glue or other adhesive is provided. The panels 16, 18 are preferably solid hardwood flooring panels. Each panel 16, 18 includes first and second locking members 26, 28 spaced beneath its outer surface 20. The first locking member 26 is at one side edge 22 of the panel and has two spaced-apart flexible arm portions 34, 36, at least one arm portion including a first latching member 54. Preferably, the first latching member 54 is a rib 58, 64 extending outward from the arm portion 34, 36. The second locking member 28 is at another side edge 24 and includes a channel 70 recessed within the side edge. The channel 70 is sized to receive the arm portions 34, 36 without them having to contact the channel 70 unless deflected within the channel 70. The second locking member 28 also includes a second latching member 56 positioned and adapted to engage the first latching member 54. The second latching member 56 is preferably a slot 72, 74 abutting the channel 70. At least one of the locking members 26, 28 is provided with a positioning member 80 so that upon inserting the first locking member 26 on one panel into the second locking member 28 on another panel for joining them together, the positioning member 80 deflects an arm portion 34, 36 to securely engage the first latching member 54 with the second latching member 56. The positioning member 80 is preferably a wedge 82 mounted to the back wall 84 of the channel 70.

The sheet units (1) comprise connecting means (3) in the form of female portions (6) and/or male portions (7), which are provided and formed in the material of the sheet unit (1), said female portions (6) are formed such as e.g. recesses (4), openings (11) or grooves (8) and said male portions (7) are formed such as projections (5), whereby the connecting means (3) during the assembling process of the sheet units (1) are insertable to each other for keeping together the sheet units (1) by aid of at least one locking function (21), at the same time as the projection (5) comprises at least one larger part (22), which on at least some place is larger than at least one smaller part (23) of the female portion (6), at the same time as the larger part (22), after insertion into a larger opening portion (24) located in the female portion (6) and makes room for said insertion of the larger part (22), is lockable against the smaller part (23).
