A first and second latching member (212,213) are attached to each respective end of the locking member (215, 216) abutting against an outward surface of the respective arm (204,205). The locking member comprises a first elongate body (215) having a first diameter attached with one end to the first latching member (213), and a second elongate body (216) that is connected to the first elongate body (215) movably along a longitudinal axis (L). The second elongate body (216) comprises a second diameter being smaller than the diameter of the first elongate body and being attached with one end to the second latching member (212).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a bracket (10,20) for use in a modular construction system, wherein plates (5) are mechanically connected in a releasable manner to form a structure. The plates (5) are provided with at least one hole (7) in a part thereof, wherein the hole (7) is configured for being coupled to the bracket (10,20). The bracket (10,20) comprises: i) at least two foot portions (12,22) for being coupled to respective plates (5), wherein each foot portion (12,22) comprises a gripper element (13,23) for being inserted into the hole (7) of the plate (5) and ii) a linking member (11,21) connecting the at least two foot portions (12,22) and establishing a predefined fixed distance and a predefined fixed relative orientation between said foot portions (12,22). The gripper element (13,23) is configured for enlarging a diameter in at least one direction in a plane parallel to the plate (5) to obtain a friction coupling between the bracket (10,20) and the plate (5) or between the bracket (10,20) and a further bracket (10,20) provided from another side of the respective plate (5), when activated in operational use, and for reducing the diameter of the gripper element (13,23) in a first direction (D1) of the plane parallel to the plate (5) to release the bracket (10,20) from the plate (5), when deactivated in operational use.
Abstract:
A modular construction member and kit including a panel having a first side and a second side opposite the first side and spaced apart from the first side by a distance defining a thickness. The panel having a plurality of ends extending between the first side and the second side with each of the first side, the second side, and at least one of the ends having a plurality of holes formed therein which are configured to receive a connector which is also receivable in a hole of a like panel for connecting the panel to the like panel.
Abstract:
The present invention aims to provide assembly-type furniture for convenient assembly, and reduced manufacturing cost by enhancing the productivity. To this end, the assembly-type furniture equipped with a press-type bonding member of the present invention comprises: a second piece provided with a long groove for bonding on the periphery of at least one side thereof; a first piece that slides onto the long groove of the second piece; and a press member that is provided on the second piece in a position that pressurizes one side of the long groove when the one side of the first piece slides along the long groove of the second piece, and maintains the bonded state of the second piece and the first piece in the pressed state.
Abstract:
A locking system 10 for mechanically joining a plurality of panels 16, 18 or components 12, 14 of an article of construction without the need for glue or other adhesive is provided Each panel 16, 18 includes first and second locking members 26,28 spaced beneath its outer surface 20 The first locking member 26 is at one side edge 22 of the panel and has two spaced-apart flexible arm portions 34, 36 at least one arm portion including a first latching member 54. The second locking member 28 is at another side edge 24 and includes a channel 70 recessed within the side edge. The channel 70 is sized to receive the arm portions 34, 36 without them having to contact th channel 70 unless deflected within the channel 70. The second latching member 56 is preferably a slot 72,74 abutting the channel 70.
Abstract:
An interlocking component assembly is made of a plurality of frame components and a plurality of panels. One panel is formed integrally with a respective frame to form a frame and panel component. A channel formed along the entire periphery of each of the frame components enables each of the frame and panel components to be interconnected. During assembly the channel of one frame component is inserted within a channel of another frame component to lock the components together along the length thereof. A plurality of locking tabs are disposed within the channel of each of the plurality of frame components. A plurality of apertures are also disposed within the channel of each of the plurality of frame components, wherein when the channel of a frame component is inserted within the channel of another frame component at least one locking tab is received within a corresponding aperture. This process is repeated until a three-dimensional unit is formed.
