An aqueous polyurethane dispersion and thermosetting compositions containing them. The aqueous polyurethane dispersion includes an aqueous medium with dispersed polyurethane-acrylate particles, which include the reaction product obtained by polymerizing a pre-emulsion formed from hydrophobic polymerizable ethylenically unsaturated monomers, a crosslinking monomer, and an active hydrogen-containing polyurethane acrylate prepolymer, which is a reaction product obtained by reacting a polyol, a polymerizable, ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing at least one hydroxyl group, a compound that includes an alkyl group having at least one hydroxyl group and optionally a carboxylic acid group, and a polyisocyanate. The prepolymer includes at least 30 percent by weight of polyurethane acrylate prepolymers with at least one terminal ethylenic unsaturation at one end of the molecule, and at least one active hydrogen-containing group at the opposite end; and at least 10 percent by weight of prepolymers having at least one terminal ethylenic unsaturation at each end of the molecule.

The present invention is directed to a golf ball comprising a dual core component, an inner cover layer and an outer cover layer. The dual core comprises an interior spherical center component formed from a thermoset material, a thermoplastic material, or combinations thereof. The dual core also comprises a core layer disposed about the center component, formed from a thermoset material, a thermoplastic material, or combinations thereof. The one or more polyurethane layers are preferably formed via a reaction injection molding (RIM) technique. The inner cover layer is relatively soft and preferably comprises an ionomer or ionomer blend. The outer cover layer is relatively hard and comprises a hard polyurethane. The resulting multi-layered golf ball of the present invention provides for enhanced distance without sacrificing playability or durability when compared to known multi-layer golf balls.

An isocyanate-containing, one-pack type, cold-setting, moisture-curable composition which has excellent storage stability and rapidly cures to give a cured article with excellent flexibility without using a plasticizer. The composition comprises: (A) an isocyanate compound having such a structure that each isocyanate (NCO) group in the molecule has a secondary or tertiary carbon atom bonded thereto; and (B) a ketimine which has a ketimine (C=N) bond derived from a ketone or aldehyde and an amine and has a branching carbon or ring-member carbon atom bonded in the alpha -position with respect to at least one of the ketimine carbon and nitrogen. As the isocyanate compound (A), a urethane prepolymer having the above structure is also preferably used.

Also provided is a water-in-oil intermediate product to which an aqueous medium can be added to produce the curable oil-in-water emulsion. Such curable emulsions are particularly suited for use in coatings applications.

A process for the preparation of a microencapsulated composition comprises: (a) combining (i) a triisocyanate that is an adduct of linear aliphatic isocyanates having the formula O=C=N-(CH2)n-N=C=O, where n is from about 4-18, (ii) an aliphatic diisocyanate that contains a cycloaliphatic or aromatic ring moiety, the aliphatic diisocyanate having from about 6-32 carbon atoms, most preferably from about 8-18 carbon atoms, and (iii) a water-immiscible composition comprising a core chemical; (b) adding an aqueous liquid and forming an oil-in-water emulsion; (c) adding a polyamine to the emulsion; and (d) reacting the triisocyanate, the diisocyanate, and the polyamine, thereby producing a plurality of microcapsules having a capsule wall, with at least a major portion of the core chemical encapsulated within the capsule wall of the microcapsules. Suitable core chemicals include agricultural chemicals such as herbicides and safeners. By adjusting the composition of the capsule walls and the contents of the capsule core, the rate of release of the core materials from the microcapsules can be adjusted. When the core contains two or more materials to be released, the microcapsules can provide a more rapid rate of release for one core material than for another.
