Abstract:
A formulation technology for low pressure two component polyurethane foam-forming compositions containing gaseous hydrohaloolefin blowing agents is described with improved storage stability and extended shelf-life. The "B"-side component of the formulations contain a gaseous hydrohaloolefin blowing agent and a polyol pre-mix, the polyol pre-mix comprising liquid blowing agent, polyol, and a catalyst containing at least one catalytic metal compound.
Abstract:
Disclosed are alkoxysilane-group modified polyurethane that are the reaction product of: (1) a polyoxyalkylene diol with a molecular weight of at least 18,000 g/mol and a content of unsaturated end groups of no more than 0.02 meq/g; and (2) an isocyanate-functional silane, wherein the molar ratio of isocyanate to hydroxyl groups is less than 0.8:1. Also disclosed are compositions, including sealant compositions, that include such polyurethanes, and cured sealant formed from such compositions.

Abstract:
The present invention describes a one-part moisture-curing liquid-applied waterproofing membrane comprising a polyurethane polymer obtained from at least one polyether polyol and at least one diisocyanate, and an aldimine of the formula (I). The membrane has a long shelf life stability with both aromatic and aliphatic isocyanates, a low viscosity at low solvent content, a sufficiently long open time to allow hand application and cures fast to a solid elastic material of high strength and high elongation. The released aldehyd is non-toxic and low flam- mable and evaporates quickly out of the membrane causing only minimal odour emission. The membrane has high crack-bridging qualities in a broad temperature range and is easily overcoatable without interlayer adhesion problems, which makes it particularly suitable for roofing applications.
Abstract:
Disclosed are polyurea compositions comprising the reaction products of a polyformal-isocyanate prepolymer and a curing agent comprising an amine. The compositions are useful as sealants in aerospace applications.
Abstract:
A natural oil derived blocked prepolymer is a reaction product of a composition including an isocyanate terminated prepolymer that is the reaction product of a mixture that has at least one or more polyols including at least one polyol having a secondary amine initiator or a tertiary amine initiator and a stoichiometric excess of one or more organic polyisocyanate components of which the stoichiometric excess of isocyanate to alcohol moieties (NCO:OH) is from 1.1:1 to 4:1, and a natural oil derived blocking agent. The viscosity of the natural oil derived blocked prepolymer is from 50,000 Pa*s to 300,000 Pa*s. An acrylic plastisol composition comprises the natural oil blocked prepolymer, one or more acrylic powders, one or more plasticizers, one or more amine cross-linkers, and optionally, one or more fillers.
Abstract:
Moisture-curable, urethane-containing prepolymers containing urethanes incorporated into the prepolymer backbone and compositions thereof for use in sealant applications are disclosed. The prepolymers provide cured compositions exhibiting improved tensile strength.
Abstract:
Sulfur-containing polymer adducts such as polythioethers, polysulfides, and sulfur- containing polyformals having terminal maleimide groups, and in particular, sulfur-containing polymers and sulfur containing adducts having terminal 1,1'-(methylenedi-4,1 - phenylene)bismaleimide groups are disclosed. The adducts provide cured sealants having improved tensile strength and elongation and are useful as aerospace sealants.
Abstract:
Disclosed are compositions that include (a) an aqueous polyurethane dispersion prepared from an isocya nate-term inated prepolymer; and (b) a hydroxyl-functionai compound having an average hydroxyl equivalent weight of greater than 40 gram/equivalent to less than 500 gram/equivalent. Also disclosed are methods of using the compositions as, for example, a sealant.
