Abstract:
Textiles backed with a polyurethane cushion are produced by applying a layer of frothed polyurethane-forming mixture to a surface of the textile. The mixture contains both water and a physical blowing agent. The layer expands due to the action of the water and the physical blowing agent and cures to form an attached cushion having a density of 176 g/L or less.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a multifunctional structure (1,1A,1P,1C) comprising a load-bearing flexible porous support (2) and a plurality of functionalizing fillers (4, 4A) which are embedded in a resin matrix (3,3A,3B) applied on said support (2) such that at least a part of the resin (3) penetrates into said fibrous support (2) however maintaining a portion of the thickness of the fibrous support (2) not impregnated with the resin (3); a further object of the invention is a method for manufacturing the structure (1,1A,1P,1C) of the invention.
Abstract:
A process for the production of coated textiles comprises at least the steps of a) bringing a textile substrate into contact with an aqueous dispersion A comprising at least one salt and at least one modified cellulose, b) bringing a textile substrate into contact with an aqueous dispersion B comprising at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of polyurethane, polyacrylate and polybutadiene and c) precipitation of the polyurethane in or on the textile substrate. The salt of dispersion A is an organic onium salt of one or more elements of the fifth main group of the periodic table of the elements. The invention further relates to a coated textile obtainable by a process according to the invention and to the use of organic onium salts of one or more elements of the fifth main group of the periodic table of the elements for the production of coated textiles.

Abstract:
Polyurethane floor covering products are formed from a web layer containing at least 30% by weight fibers. A cooled polyurethane foam formulation which includes at least one polyisocyanate, water and at least one polyol having an equivalent weight of at least 500 is applied to the web layer. The wetted web layer is then compressed to mechanically wet out the fibers, gauged and heated to cure the foam formulation.
Abstract:
An insulating product (10) which comprises a fibrous material (14) which is at least partly impregnated with a thermo-plastics substance (18) which, once heated, produces a plurality of encased gaseous voids (18B).
Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a fabric coating, which is particularly relevant to crushed foam coatings, which simulates a viscose flocked finish which method, in relation to at least one layer of the fabric coating, includes the steps of providing fine beads of polymer which are hollow and partially filled with selected solvents or solvent blends or other volatile substances and adding these beads to a coating compound in its wet state. Coating the fabric with the resultant compound and oven drying the compound on the fabric and then raising the temperature of the coating to crosslink the polymer and expand the polymer beads within the coating layer. The invention includes a fabric coating and a coated fabric formed from this method.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a process for preparing a synthetic suede leather, a synthetic suede leather obtainable by said process and the use of said synthetic suede leather as a cover in automotive and furniture applications or as outer garments. The process comprises the steps of (a) foaming a composition comprising an aqueous polyurethane dispersion; (b) applying the foamed composition to a textile substrate composed of a yarn; (c) coagulating the polyurethane dispersion; (d) drying; and (e) condensation said foamed composition containing pigments during application. The textile substrate is preferably pre-dyed with disperse dyes.
Abstract:
A rug gripper (10) for preventing the lateral movement of a rug (14) on a floor (16) comprising a continuous non-slip, non-adhesive foam layer having a top surface and a bottom surface. The top surface of the foam layer includes an adhesive layer for adhering the foam layer to the rug and the bottom surface of the foam layer engages the floor.
