Abstract:
A starter system (400), for an internal combustion engine (200) including a carburetor (450) and a recoil starter (150), may include a sensor (420), a controller (430) and an actuator (440). The carburetor (450) may have at least a choke valve (322) for controlling a flow of a fresh air into a combustion chamber (232) of the engine (200) during engine start. The choke valve (322) may have a choke position and an open position and may be positioned into the choke position at engine start. The recoil starter (150) may start a rotation of an engine crankshaft causing a fuel supply to the combustion chamber (232) of the engine (200). The sensor (420) may be disposed to detect movement parameters associated with the engine (200) or crankshaft responsive to operation of the recoil starter (150). The controller (430) may be operably coupled to the sensor (420) to receive information indicative of the movement parameters and providing a control signal based on processed information providing an indication of an optimal condition for engine start. The actuator (440) may be configured to receive the control signal from the controller (430) and to initiate automatic repositioning of the choke valve (322) from the choke position to the open position based on receiving the control signal from the controller (430) responsive to the indication of the optimal condition for engine start.
Abstract:
A monofuel supply system (4) for an endothermic motor (32) powered with alternative fuel such as LPG, methane, hydrogen and the like, comprising a flow adjustment device (12) having a device body (16) provided with a main intake pipe (20), at least one shutter (24) intercepting and occluding at least partially the main intake pipe (20), and a delivery pipe (28) located downstream of the main intake pipe (20), a tank (36) of alternative fuel, wherein the main intake pipe (20) receives a main flow comprising a supporter of combustion and an alternative fuel, coming from said tank (36), mixed according to a first titre (al). Advantageously, the system (4) comprises a secondary intake pipe (44), for inputting a secondary flow, different from the main flow, directly into the delivery pipe (28) bypassing the shutter (24), and is provided with an enrichment diffuser (48) of alternative fuel, in fluid connection with said tank (36), so that it enriches with fuel the secondary flow and sends it to the delivery pipe (28) with a second titre (a2) which is richer in fuel than the first titre (al) of the main flow.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for electronically controlling the fuel-to-air ratio of a fuel mixture supplied to an internal combustion engines are disclosed. In one aspect, electronic control systems and methods are provided that determine and automatically move a choke valve in accordance with a first ramp having a first characteristic that is dependent on engine temperature and ambient air temperature. In another aspect, an integrated ignition and electronic auto-choke module is provided. In yet another aspect, electronic control systems and methods are provided that dynamically control a movement characteristic of a choke valve using a feedback loop.
Abstract:
A carburetor 1 includes: an intake passage 21 for allowing intake air to an engine to flow therethrough; a fuel storage section 22 for storing fuel from a fuel tank; a starting fuel supply passage 30 for supplying starting fuel from the fuel storage section 22 to the intake passage 21; and a solenoid valve 3 provided in the middle of the starting fuel supply passage 30. At least a part of the starting fuel supply passage 30 between a fuel intake portion 31 and the intake passage 21 is formed in a straight line. Thus, pressure loss of the fuel between the fuel intake portion 31 and the intake passage 21 is suppressed, so that the fuel can be easily extracted to the intake passage 21 by the negative pressure generated in the intake passage 21without stagnating. Accordingly, the optimal amount of the starting fuel can be supplied to the engine when the engine is cold, so that the startability of an engine can be secured.
