The fuel delivery system (100) includes a diaphragm carburettor (102) for mixing air and fuel, a start preparation system (104) for introducing fuel into the carburettor before a start of the engine, and a fuel enrichment system (106) for providing an enriched fuel and air mixture when the engine is cranked.

The invention concerns a method for controlling the fuel supply to an internal combustion engine at start-up. The fuel supply system can be set in at least two start modes, a lean mode and a rich mode, and the selection of mode is based on an evaluation of a previous start attempt or successful run. The invention also concerns a carburettor (10) having a fuel supply system including a main fuel path (13) with an actively controlled fuel valve (26) and an idling fuel path (14) branching off from the main fuel path (13) downstream of the valve (26). The fuel supply system further includes a start fuel line (23, 423) starting upstream (figure 1 ) or downstream (figure 4) of the fuel valve (26) and ending in at least one start fuel outlet near and downstream of a choke valve.

A fuel enrichment device includes a body forming a first fuel chamber and a second fuel chamber. The second fuel chamber is adapted to contain a predetermined amount of enriching fuel to be provided to an engine. A normally open valve connects the first fuel chamber to the second fuel chamber. A normally closed valve for controls the provision of enriching fuel to the engine. The normally closed valve is open whenever the normally open valve is closed.

Erfindungsgegenstand ist eine Vorrichtung zum Steuern der Kraftstoffzufuhr an einen Verbrennungsmotor in einem Arbeitsgerät, mit einer Erkennungseinrichtung zum Erkennen eines Startbetriebszustands des Verbrennungsmotors und mit einer von der Erkennungseinrichtung ansteuerbaren Einstelleinrichtung, um während des Startbetriebszustands einen Kraftstoffanteil in einem Kraftstoff-Luft-Gemisch, das dem Verbrennungsmotor zuzuführen ist, im Vergleich zu einem Normalbetriebszustand des Verbrennungsmotors zu erhöhen. Somit lässt sich lediglich für den Startbetriebszustand eine gewünschte Verfettung des Kraftstoff-Luft-Gemischs erzielen, um ein problemfreies Startverhalten des Verbrennungsmotors zu gewährleisten.

An automatic choke for a small internal combustion engine uses an air vane (28) responsive to an air flow created by a radial fan (20) to position the choke valve (40) during engine starting. A return spring (44) or gravity may be used to reset the automatic choke after the engine has been stopped. The automatic choke includes a thermally-responsive device (49) that keeps the choke at least partially open during hot restarts of the engine.

In at least one implementation, a method of operating a combustion engine, includes determining a temperature equal or related to a temperature of an engine at an engine start and comparing the determined temperature to a temperature threshold, determining if an engine operating condition exceeds an engine threshold within a threshold time after the engine was started, and if the determined temperature is below the threshold temperature and the engine operating condition remains above the engine threshold and the threshold time has not passed, providing an enriched fuel and air mixture to the engine.

A monofuel supply system (4) for an endothermic motor (32) powered with alternative fuel such as LPG, methane, hydrogen and the like, comprising a flow adjustment device (12) having a device body (16) provided with a main intake pipe (20), at least one shutter (24) intercepting and occluding at least partially the main intake pipe (20), and a delivery pipe (28) located downstream of the main intake pipe (20), a tank (36) of alternative fuel, wherein the main intake pipe (20) receives a main flow comprising a supporter of combustion and an alternative fuel, coming from said tank (36), mixed according to a first titre (al). Advantageously, the system (4) comprises a secondary intake pipe (44), for inputting a secondary flow, different from the main flow, directly into the delivery pipe (28) bypassing the shutter (24), and is provided with an enrichment diffuser (48) of alternative fuel, in fluid connection with said tank (36), so that it enriches with fuel the secondary flow and sends it to the delivery pipe (28) with a second titre (a2) which is richer in fuel than the first titre (al) of the main flow.

Ein Motorarbeitsgerät (100) mit einer Verbrennungskraftmaschine (10) mit einem Vergaser mit einer Chokeklappe (11) und einem Zündmodul (12) und einem Sensorglied (30) zur Erfassung der Drehzahl der Verbrennungskraftmaschine (10), insbesondere des Polraddrehwinkels pro Zeiteinheit soll in einfacher und bequemer Weise gestartet werden, wobei Bedienfehler vermieden werden sollen. Dies wird dadurch erreicht, dass eine vom Zündmodul (12) gesteuerte Versteileinrichtung (21) für die Chokeklappe (11) vorgesehen ist.

A method for controlling the fuel supply to an internal combustion engine at startup, the engine having a fuel supply system which can be set in at least two start modes, a lean mode, and a rich mode, the rich mode providing extra fuel during start-up of the engine, the method including: a) during a start attempt, determining if the next start attempt should be executed in lean or rich mode based on an evaluation of at least one engine parameter/s from the previous start attempt and/or at least one engine parameter/s from the last successful run, and/or at least one engine parameters/s of the present start attempt, and b) setting the fuel supply system in rich or lean mode depending of the evaluation in such a way that the next start attempt is executed in said rich or lean mode.
