Embodiments of the present invention provide a prosthesis including: a flexible sleeve for receiving a residual limb therein, the sleeve defining a longitudinal axis; a rigid mount secured to the sleeve and spaced axially along the sleeve from the constrictor, the rigid mount defining a cavity extending axially from the sleeve for, in use, receiving therein the residual limb received within the sleeve; a tool; a connector for securing the tool to the mount; and a magnet on the tool or mount for biasing the tool towards the mount, thereby resisting relative movement of the tool and mount.

A prosthetic system (100) includes a prosthetic liner (104) adapted to provide an interface between a residual limb (101) and a prosthetic socket (102), and a valve assembly (122). The valve assembly (122) is arranged for regulating fluid communication between an interface region (126) defined between the prosthetic liner (104) and the residual limb (101) and a suspension chamber (118) defined between the prosthetic liner (104) and the prosthetic socket (102). The valve assembly (122) is configured such that a vacuum in the suspension chamber (118) selectively moves the valve assembly (122) between a closed position in which the valve assembly (122) fluidly separates the suspension chamber (118) from the interface region (126), and an open position in which a portion of the vacuum in the suspension chamber (118) draws fluid from the interface region (126) via the valve assembly (122) into the suspension chamber (118).

Prosthetic implant devices and related methods are provided. The prosthetic implant devices include an internal component and an external component. The internal component has an implant portion associated with one or more rare earth magnets. The internal component being of a size and shape suitable for surgical implantation into the residual limb of the amputee. The one or more rare earth magnets generate at least one magnetic field. The external component having a prosthetic piston associated with a plurality of magnetic elements and a prosthetic cup associated with a magnetic array. The magnet elements of the prosthetic piston being in adaptable magnetic association with the at least one magnetic field generated by the one or more rare earth magnets.

Prosthetic Limb Socket A prosthetic limb socket (1) comprises a rigid support member (3) comprising a distal base portion (5) and a plurality of support portions (7, 9) extending proximally from the base portion (5), a plurality of adjustable panels (13A, 13P) disposed between the support portions (7, 9) of the support member (3) and cords (15D, 15P) for adjusting a radial position of the panels relative to the support portions. The cords (15D, 15P) may be manually tightened or tightened by means of motor. Sensors (21)are deployed to provide for automatic adjustment of the position of the panels (13A, 13P) relative to the support portions (7, 9).
