Abstract: A measuring device and methods of use for measuring a section of a bowel of a patient. The measuring device includes a tubular section having a longitudinal axis and at least one wing normally projecting outward transverse to the longitudinal axis. The tubular section is configured for mounting on a conventional or robotic laparoscopic grasper adjacent the grasper's movable jaws. The at least one wing is are pivotable to a closed position so that grasper with the measuring device mounted thereon can be inserted through a conventional trocar, whereupon the at least one wing projects outward transversely to the longitudinal axis. The at least one wing is of a predetermined length to serve as a measurement tool enabling a surgeon to measure off a desired length of the bowel.

Das Instrument weist eine um ihre Erstreckungsrichtung rotierbare Welle auf. In einem distalen Endbereich ist ein Borstensatz mit mindestens zwei Borsten vorgesehen, der mindestens einen Zwischenraum aufweist. Der Zwischenraum ist derart ausgestaltet, dass bei einer Rotation der Welle um ihre Erstreckungsrichtung bearbeitetes Gewebe innerhalb des Zwischenraums in eine axiale Richtung beweglich ist. Daneben ist vorgesehen, die Erfindung betrifft fernerp eine medizinisches Vorrichtung und ein medizinisches Verfahren.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods described herein relate to affecting an internal diameter of a body lumen, and, in many examples, of a pylorus. A silk-based bulking agent may be injected in a pyloric tissue so as to reduce an effective inner diameter of the pylorus. A multi-part occluding agent may be injected into a pylorus on the surface of the pyloric tissue to occlude the pylorus alone or in combination with the silk-based bulking agent.

Abstract: A robotic surgical instrument includes a housing having a shaft extending therefrom configured to receive a first end effector including jaw members moveable between a fully open position wherein the jaw members are spaced a maximum distance relative to one another and a closed position wherein a closure pressure between the jaw members is within a predetermined range. A drive rod actuates the first end effector upon translation thereof. The housing includes a spring compression assembly having proximal and distal hubs with the compression spring disposed therebetween. A jaw drive input rotates a drive gear to translate the distal hub relative to the proximal hub to compress the compression spring and actuate the end effector. Once the jaw members are fully open, the jaw drive input rotates a preset number of degrees to compress the compression spring and approximate the jaw members to a closure pressure within the predetermined range.
