Abstract:
Abstract:
An air filter assembly (20) has a pleated filter cartridge for filtering out dust from the air, this unit being fabricated of a suitable paper material. The cartridge (16) is in the form of a receptacle having an open top (16a), a closed bottom (16b) and closed sides (16c) which run entirely there around. Pleats (21) are formed in the sides (16c) of the cartridge. The pleats (21) are separated from each other by an adhesive bead (19) which may be formed from a hot melt material. In the filtering cycle air is drawn out by a blower (15) from the inside of the cartridge thereby drawing air from the outsides through the pleated sides which filter our dirt. The filtered air is fed from the cartridge (16) to an area requiring clean air. Periodically, the filter (16) is automatically cleaned by compressed pulsating air (D) which is fed to the interior of the cartridge (16) drives through the pleated sides (21), thereby blowing off dirt accumulated on the cartridge.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the manufacture of a filter, as well as a filter in which a gaseous or liquid medium is passed through the filter material. The filter is produced by a folding method in which a filter material sheet is folded (L) in two directions different from each other, and the parallel folds forming on the outer surface of the folded sheet are seamed to each other. As a result of the folding and the seaming, a uniform twisty filter pocket (T) is formed of the filter material sheet, its bottom (P) and sides being formed without seams. By the method, a large filtering area is achieved in relation to the volume of the filter, and furthermore, the number of seamings needed in the manufacture is reduced as seamings are only needed at the ends (K) and on the front surface of the filter. Also, the flow resistance caused by the filter is low.
Abstract:
A liquid filter includes a filtering medium of a collapsed cylindrical form which defines cooperating accordian pleats that form contaminant collecting walls. The medium is self-supporting, and divides the filter into inlet and outlet chambers across the medium. When the restriction of the medium increases, thereby increasing the pressure differential across the medium, the accordian pleats collapse until corrugations on the pleats engage with one another, thereby resisting further collapse of the medium. As the pressure differential increases still further to the extent that the corrugations are collapsed, a part of each fold is kept apart by adjacent double thickness portion of the fold or pleat, so that a minimum flow of liquid through the filter is maintained.

Abstract:
Filter devices with a flow director surrounded by a filter element providing a large filter surface area and low fluid volumes for efficient filtration and high recovery of sample fluids. The filter device can be configured with dimensions and sealing surfaces to functionally interact as a pre-filter for common usage disposable filter flasks.
Abstract:
A method for producing a filter (1) for injectors of fuel, oil, solutions, additives and fluids in general, for braking and transmission systems for example, comprises an element (3) made of plastic material and having a tubular shape, open at opposite ends (6, 7), internally hollow (at 4) and having on one wall (32) of its internal cavity (4) a plurality of projections (30) spaced apart from one another, these projections interacting with portions (27) of a filter element (21) of the pleated type associated with this tubular element and capable of filtering the fluid circulating through the latter. Provision is made for the filter element (21) and the tubular element (3) to form a single filter body by being co-moulded, the filter element (21) being incorporated and completely positioned within the tubular element (3), but having portions of filter surface area (24) which are free of this tubular element (3) so as to allow the passage and filtration of the circulating fluid.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a filter cartridge. The filter cartridge includes an inner filter in the form of an approximately cylindrical corrugated membrane, an outer filter in the form of an approximately cylindrical corrugated membrane, the outer filter having a diameter greater than that of the inner filter and being installed around the inner filter, and at least one holder to support the inner filter and the outer filter.
