Abstract:
Aqueous dispersions containing anionic polyurethanes are prepared by reacting a prepolymer A), obtained from aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diisocyanates, polytetramethylene glycol and one or more anionic or potentially anionic polyols, with a chain extender B) which is a diamine sulfonate salt; the dispersion have a medium particle size above 600 nm and give films of high opacity and soft-feel touch which are useful for the coating of leather, fabrics, paper, cardboard, plastic, wood and metals.

Abstract:
The present invention provides polyurethanes including a reaction product of components including: (a) about 1 equivalent of at least one polyisocyanate; (b) about 0.05 to about 0.9 equivalents of at least one branched polyol having 4 to 18 carbon atoms and at least 3 hydroxyl groups; and (c) about 0.1 to about 0.95 equivalents of at least one diol having 2 to 18 carbon atoms, wherein the reaction product components are essentially free of polyester polyol and polyether polyol and the reaction components are maintained at a temperature of at least about 100°C for at least about 10 minutes, compositions, coatings and articles made therefrom and methods of making the same.
Abstract:
Polyurethane polymers bearing multiple reactive groups are readily prepared from easily accessible precursors. The reactive groups of the polymers are then derivatized with binding functionalities for analytes, energy absorbing molecules for matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry, fluorescent moieties and the like. The reactive groups can also be converted to different reactive groups having a desired avidity or specificity for a selected reaction partner. The polymers are incorporated into devices of use for the analysis, capture, separation, or purification of an analyte. In an exemplary embodiment, the invention provides a substrate coated with a polymer of the invention, the substrate being adapted for use as a probe for a mass spectrometer.
Abstract:
The invention concerns novel active-substance-containing moulded bodies based on thermoplastically processable biodegradable polymers, preferably polyesters, polyester amides, polyester urethanes and polyester urethane ureas. The invention further concerns their preparation, and their use in combating parasites on, in and in the environment of host animals. After use, the moulded bodies can optionally be used as insecticides on outdoor or indoor plants.
Abstract:
A radiation curable polyurethane-based binder dispersion includes water and a radiation curable polyurethane dispersed in the water. The polyurethane is formed from: a polyisocyanate; a polyol having a chain with two hydroxyl functional groups at one end of the chain and no hydroxyl groups at an opposed end of the chain, and having a number average molecular weight ranging from about 500 to about 5,000; an acrylate or methacrylate, the acrylate or methacrylate having at least one hydroxyl functional group and having an acrylate functional group or a methacrylate functional group; an alcohol or a diol or an amine having a number average molecular weight less than 600; and a sulfonate or sulfonic acid having one or two amino functional groups.
Abstract:
A fluorochemical composition that includes one or more fluorochemical urethane compounds, a method of treating a substrate (e.g., a method for imparting water and oil repellency and antisoiling characteristics to a substrate), and an article having a fluorochemical composition coating thereon
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a polyurethane resin composition and a polyurethane fiber manufactured by using same, and more particularly, to a polyurethane resin composition containing dialkyl sulfosuccinate, a polyurethane fiber having superior adhesive force between filaments in a multi-filament elastic fiber which is manufactured by using same, and to a method for manufacturing same.
