Abstract:
A tyre rasp blade (A) made with an arcuate shape having a planar body (38) with cutting teeth (34) at the outer working edge. The cutting teeth extended laterally relative to the planar body in alternating sets of curved sections. The curved sections preferably form a sinusoidal curve (36) along the outer working edge. The tyre rasp blade is made by initially forming an arcuate blade of planar material that has an outer periphery of varying radii from a center point of the arcuate blade; then cutting teeth are formed at the varying radii of the working edge of the planar material; and then an outer portion of the planar material is deformed laterally in opposite directions to form alternating, oppositely curved sections, with the cutting teeth all lying approximately at the same circumferential radius (50) so that they all contact the tyre to be buffed.
Abstract:
A file adapter (A) for a motor driven workpiece cutting tool (T) comprises a power head (13) reciprocating an elongate file (F) coupled to a ramrod (16) reciprocated thereby on a forwardly projecting axis (a). The file has top and bottom faces (23, 24) with cutting means (25) on the bottom face. The adapter includes a forwardly extending member (29) carried by the power head of the tool and positioning a resistance means (R) for engaging and downwardly pressing the top face of the file forwardly of its coupled engagement to the ramrod. The file is a second class lever with its fulcrum coupled to the ramrod and its resistance pressured at said resistance means when its cutting means forcibly engage a workpiece.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a tool for removing components, such as fibres or other foreign particles, which protrude from the workpiece surface and impair the smoothness of said surface. The tool comprises a cutter device taking the form of a shearing blade (4) with openings (5, 6, 7) distributed over the entire surface. The shearing blade (4) is resilient and connected by means of a likewise resilient intermediate layer (11) to a rigid base plate (10) which is part of the tool guide system. The shapes and contours of the shearing blade (4), intermediate layer (11) and base plate (10) are adapted to the workpiece surface to be machined. The shearing blade (4) is attached detachably to the intermediate layer (11) or directly to the base plate (10). The shearing blade (4) can be U-shaped or constructed with a completely closed enveloping surface for correspondingly shaped workpieces. The tool designed according to the invention and having a shearing blade (4) can finish the actual surface of a workpiece to be machined without damaging or scratching this actual surface or removing parts thereof.
Abstract:
The etching rate of an alkaline ammonium copper etching bath is accelerated by inclusion therein of an etchant accelerating amount of a mixture comprising an ammonium halide, a water-soluble salt containing sulfur, selenium or tellurium in the anion, an organic thio compound containing the group (I) and, optionally, a water-soluble salt of a noble metal (e.g. silver).
Abstract:
A semicylindrical metallic abrasive member (1) which has a generally semicylindrical body so that an uneven surface of an object can be ground thereby and which has, on the abrasive tooth (3)-carrying surface portion, a suitable number of circumferentially extending grooves (4) used to store ground powder temporarily therein or to guide discharge of the ground powder thus stored.
