Abstract:
The invention concerns a drum washer. The washer has a shaft formed by two cones (46) placed with their bases against one another. The shaft can be used as a supporting structure for the drum. Vanes (48) can also be placed on it for assisting in collecting washing liquid falling from the upper part of the drum separately from the washing liquid ending up on the bottom of the drum. The washer is especially suitable for washing cellulose pulp.
Abstract:
A rotary disc filtration device having a fluid filtration gap between a filtration surface and a disc is disclosed. The disc and/or filter has one or more spiral grooves in fluid communication with fluid in the gap. The disc and/or filter is rotated and one or both may be axially oscillated and/or vibrated to create the shear at the filter surface that increases permeate flux through the filter. Several discs and filters may be interleaved to increase filtration device capacity and make more efficient use of equipment space. In such a device, the discs can be mounted on a common shaft for rotation in unison and can have spiral grooves on both major faces of each disc. The filters are held stationary in that device and are fluidly connected to facilitate collection of the permeate.
Abstract:
A combined hopper and shaker assembly which can be used at least in processing excavation or other remains. The assembly features a hopper that can be pivoted (through operation of a hoist/sling) to cause the contents of the hopper to be fed via gravity through an exit chute onto the shaker. The hopper includes splash guards or sidewalls on the portions thereof that are proximate the pivot axis and an internal shape along the exit chute so as to guide the contents of the hopper toward the exit chute.
Abstract:
A screen panel assembly includes a screen panel (100) and one or more raised screen components (120), wherein at least one of the raised screen components is disposed on the screen panel. Furthermore, each of the one or more raised screen components includes at least one inclined front screen surface (122) that defines a first plane that is oriented at a first angle relative to said screen panel. Additionally, the first plane is substantially aligned with a second plane (128) that is oriented at a second angle (126) relative to a third plane (108) that is perpendicular to a displacement vector (112b) along which the screen panel assembly is accelerated by a vibratory separation device.

Abstract:
An apparatus for separating solids from a solids laden fluid, the apparatus comprising a container (C, 102) for containing a solids laden liquid and box (X, 104) having at least one opening therein and a screen assembly (A, 110) arranged over said opening, when in use, at least a part of the screen assembly (A, 110) immersed in said solids laden liquid in the container (C, 102) characterised in that said apparatus comprises at least one of: an electromagnetic vibratory apparatus; and piezoelectric vibratory apparatus for vibrating the screen assembly (A, 110) . An apparatus for separating solids from solids laden fluid, the apparatus comprising a base and a basket (1324) resiliently suspended on said base and a vibratory apparatus (1322) for vibrating the basket, at least one upper screen apparatus (1316) in the basket having a fluid exit end, and at least one lower screen apparatus (1320) in the basket below the at least one upper screen apparatus (1316), fluid flowable from the at least one upper screen apparatus (1316) down onto the at least one lower screen apparatus (1320) , and flow diffusion apparatus (1318) mounted below the fluid exit end of the at least one upper screen apparatus and above the at least one lower screen apparatus , so that fluid flowing down from the at least one upper screen apparatus (1316) flows onto the flow diffusion apparatus (1318) and is diffused thereby characterised in that the vibratory apparatus comprises at least one of: an electromagnetic vibratory apparatus; and piezoelectric vibratory apparatus for vibrating the basket (1324) .
Abstract:
A screen assembly for a vibratory shaker, the screen assembly including at least two screening members, and the at least two screen members connected by sewing material. In one aspect of such a screen assembly the sewing material is thread in a stitch pattern across the at least two screening members, a pattern of expandable material on and corresponding to the stitch pattern, and the thread passing through holes in the pattern of expandable material, the expandable material expanded within the holes following extraction of a needle therefrom, the needle used to apply the sewing material, to inhibit tearing of either of the at least two screening members between holes.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a centrifuge, in particular a separator, comprising an inlet tube (3) and a distributor (5) for introduction of a material to be spun into a spinning chamber (9), defined by a spinning drum (7), within which chamber a sieve is arranged essentially coaxial to the inlet tube (3) and/or sieve. The distributor is arranged in such a way that the material to be spun is fed to a region of the spinning chamber, arranged radially external to the outer circumference of the sieve - solid collection chamber such that during a separating spin, a liquid component of the fed material to be spun flows radially from the outside to the inside through the sieve (11), whereby the solid collection chamber may be discontinuously closed. On opening the solid collecting chamber (13) to remove the solids, contaminants on the sieve are removed by back-flowing liquid and the sieve is thus cleaned.
Abstract:
A method for recuperating valuable substances and liquids from a suspension or mixture thereof, whereby a continually circulating filter strip (20) is used, the suspension or mixture is deposited on said strip and the filter strip is integrated into the fibre treatment process. The invention is particularly suitable for producing paper, whereby a device (TD) containing one such circulating filter strip is integrated into the return system. By applying this method (which is fundamentally known per se as a sludge treatment method) to fibre production, the following effect is obtained: the valuable substances accumulate in the thickened filter cake, whereby the greater part of said substances can be re-used, and the quality of the remaining water is such that it can be re-used almost entirely in the fibre production process circuit without encumbering an internal or external purification or waste-treatment facility. One particularly preferred device comprises other devices in addition to said filter strip, whereby said combination results in an extremely compact structure and provides universal adaptability to the respective processes thus performed.
