Abstract:
The invention relates to a hydraulic oil reservoir as used, in particular, in motor vehicles. According to the invention, the oil filter (1) is inserted inside an encapsulated filter housing (3) which is accommodated in the hydraulic reservoir (2). The inventive hydraulic oil reservoir (2) ensures that the hydraulic oil cannot pick up any air and feed it to the system since the oil filter, by virtue of its encapsulation, is already arranged below the oil level. The oil level inside the filter housing is independent, to the greatest possible extent, from the oil level of the hydraulic oil reservoir which accommodates the filter housing.
Abstract:
Rotary filtration devices have at least one inner member (36) and at least one outer member (26), which rotate and define a fluid filtration gap (48) therebetween. During filtration, permeate passes from the feed fluid in the gap (48) through the filters (34) facing the gap (48). The inner member (36) has an internal pathway (46) for the flow of feed fluid. Fluid to be filtered flows from the body of the feed fluid through the internal pathway (46), reverses direction (70), and flows through the filtration gap (48) back to the body of the feed fluid. Alternatively, fluid to be filtered passes from the body of the feed fluid through the fluid filtration gap (48), reverses direction, and flows through the internal pathway (46) back to the body of the feed fluid. The outer member (26) may be closed so that feed keeps circulating in the fluid filtration gap (48) until it leaves through the filter (34) as permeate or reenters the surrounding reservoir (60) of feed fluid.
Abstract:
A raked bar screen for a storm overflow comprises a grid of parallel spaced-apart bars (1) attached at their ends to a framework (2, 3, 14). A comb assembly (4, 5, 6) has teeth (5) which engage in the spaces between the grid bars (1). The comb assembly is longitudinally reciprocable, whereby the comb teeth can sweep longitudinally back and forth between the grid bars. The spaces between the grid bars are open at their ends. In use, sweeping of the comb teeth between the grid bars and through the open ends of the spaces therebetween drives out entrapped solid matter.
Abstract:
An apparatus for separating solid or particulate matter from a flowing liquid or gas, the apparatus including: a separation panel positioned in the path of flow of the liquid or gas, the separation panel including a plurality of openings, wherein the openings are of a predetermined size such that only solid or particulate matter smaller than that size is able to pass through the openings, and wherein further, the configuration and arrangement of the openings on the separation panel is such that, in use of the apparatus, solid or particulate matter larger than the predetermined size is substantially prevented from adhering to or obstructing the separation panel; and means additional to the separation panel for discouraging any solid or particulate matter from adhering to or obstructing the separation panel, in use of the apparatus.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a multiple tube filter device for beer filtration, said device being distinguished by a simple design, wherein the partition (7) is connected to the central container section (4), and the collets (15) act on the top of the blind flange (10) remote from the partition and on the underside of the partition (7) remote from the blind flange.
Abstract:
A liquid filtering device includes an inlet pipe (11), an outlet pipe (5) and a chamber (3) connected therebetween. The chamber (3) includes a liquid-filtering filter (4) and connects with liquid analyzing equipment, for instance sewage water analyzing equipment. The chamber (3) also connects with a filtered-liquid container (6), through the medium of a throughflow pump (9). The throughflow pump (9) functions to allow liquid to pass from the chamber (3) to the container (6) and, after a predetermined time period has lapsed, to pump the filtered liquid back from the container (6) and through the filter (4) for a given time duration, such as to clean the filter.
Abstract:
A device for separating one or more components from a fluid such as gas, water, oil and so on, which device is provided with a closed drum-like carrier driven rotatably on an axis and having means for feeding respectively discharging the fluid, wherein one or more filter elements are arranged in the carrier and each filter element has a fluid duct extending between the rotational axis and drum wall, which combination of rotating drum and filter element first effects a separation of a heavier fraction and then a filtration of the lighter fractions.
Abstract:
A floor mounted de-watering spin chamber is connected with a kitchen disposer-grinder for de-watering and collecting ground food scraps that are suitable for garden composts. The spin chamber contains a perforated rotary spin basket and has a rigid lid with a rigid inlet tube insertable in a rigid body so that only one latch is necessary to hold the lid securely on the spin chamber. A diverter valve operated by a manual knob controls the discharge of water and solid material from the disposer-grinder selectively through the spin chamber or a drainpipe and the knob also controls a switch for an electric motor driving the spin basket. The drain pipe may also receive water and solid material from a second sink which is not equipped with a disposer-grinder and which material is not treated by the present apparatus, a baffle in a pipe connection fitting preventing such material from backing up into the spin chamber.
Abstract:
In a waste water treatment apparatus with a separator device (12A, 12B) for separating solid materials from an inflow of water, the separator device (12A, 12B) comprises cylindrical screen bars (24) extending around only a lower portion and a cylindrical cover (25) extending over the bars (24). A rake (26) discharges the screenings into a screw conveyor (14) laterally from the separator device (12A, 12B), which may be one of a pair at opposite sides of the screw conveyor (14).
Abstract:
A separating filter for separating a pulp consisting of a mixture of liquids containing solids fractions comprises a pressure filter associated with a fine-filtration and ultrafiltration device. The solids fractions are retained in the pressure filter, while the liquid fractions are separated from each other in the fine-filtration and ultrafiltration device according to their different molecular structures. The invention makes it possible to obtain a modular structure of very compact overall design and comparatively large filtration surfaces.
