Abstract:
Disclosed are methods of facing a surface of a weldable iron based material with a consumable iron based electrode and alloy forming elements by creating an electric arc between the electrode and the surface of the weldable base material effective to form a weld puddle of which the weldable base material provides from about 35 % to about 80 % by weight, and preferably a major portion, of the weld puddle formed by the electrode and the base plate and by depositing and melting a predetermined quantity of alloy forming elements in the weld puddle to form an alloy abrasion resistant or corrosion resistant facing. Also disclosed are plates having abrasion or corrosion resistant surfaces in which from about 35 % to about 80 % and preferably a major portion of the weld puddle formed by the electrode and the base material is the weldable iron based material.

Refere-se a presente patente a conjunto robô para aplicação de solda automatizada e contínua em rolos de moendas de cana de açúcar, e processo correspondente, com a finalidade de aplicar automaticamente de forma segura solda (chapisco) nos rolos das moendas com a moenda em funcionamento, utilizando eletrodo de solda revestido como consumível, base móvel (101), base articulada (2), conjunto braço referenciador-guia do braço referenciador (103), braço robótico de solda (4) e dispositivo alimentador automático de eletrodos (5), adequados ao espaço da moenda e sistema de controle automatizado da máquina de solda, resultando em solda de melhor qualidade, com gramatura mais regular, alta aderência, longa duração da solda resultante, manutenção contínua da limpeza dos frisos, maior segurança operacional e salubridade, e menor custo de mão de obra de operação e manutenção.

Provided are a systems and methods for manufacturing objects by solid freeform fabrication, especially titanium and titanium alloy objects, wherein the deposition rate is increased by using two separate heat sources, one heat source for heating the deposition area on the base material and one heat source for heating and melting a metallic material, such as a metal wire or a powdered metallic material.

The applicant have found that a laser cladding or plasma transferred arc overlay welding process may be used advantageously to apply and to control the material properties of a coating designed for protecting the substrate against wear, corrosion and oxidation at elevated temperature. Furthermore, a laser cladding or plasma transferred arc overlay welding process may be used to apply the coating alloy materials in applications where traditional thermal spray or weld-applied coatings are not practical. By using these welding methods very good bonding is achieved by fusion during welding. At the same time the properties of the clad layer is preserved by the limited dilution typical of these two welding methods compared traditional overlay welding, by e.g. Gas Tungsten Arc Welding and the like.

A torch assembly (100) for cutting or spraying applications is described in the present application. The torch assembly (100) includes a torch connector (101) that connects to at least one cable that communicates with a power supply. The torch assembly (100) further includes a trigger (130) mounted on the torch assembly (100) to start and stop torch operations. The trigger (130) electrically communicates with the power supply via the at least one cable. The torch assembly (100) also includes a remote switch (135) mounted on the torch assembly (100) to allow an operator to remotely adjust an output of the power supply to a desired output level. The remote switch (135) is electrically coupled to the power supply via the at least one cable.
