A wake-up device (1) comprises clock means (2), wake-up timer means (3), controllable wake-up stimulus means (4), and a control device (5) for controlling the wake-up stimulus means (4). The wake-up stimulus means is capable of varying an intensity of the wake-up stimulus. The wake-up stimulus is started at a relatively low intensity at a predetermined advance time (tA) before the intended time of waking up (tWU), in such a manner that the intensity of the wake-up stimulus is gradually increased in accordance with a predefined wake-up program. The wake-up device further comprises sleep quality monitor means (10) for monitoring the quality of the sleep of a user, and for generating a sleep quality monitor signal (S) indicative of the quality of the sleep of the user. The control device is responsive to the sleep quality monitor signal (S) received from the sleep quality monitor means to amend the wake-up program.

A pillowcase alarm system is provided. The system includes a pillowcase adapted to receive a pillow; a printed circuit board, microcontroller and RF transceiver; at least one vibration motor; and executable code causing a cellular telephone, smartphone or computer to communicate wirelessly with the system; view the status of the system; and configure the user defined alarm settings. The complete system is designed to provide the user an adaptable waking experience while maintaining the integrity of the pillow and bedding.

본 발명은 현재시간이 설정된 알람시간과 동일할 때, 알람소리를 발생함과 동시에 알람소리를 듣고 일어난 사용자에 의해 분사되는 물이 얼굴에 자극을 줌으로써, 보다 완벽하게 잠에서 깨어날 수 있도록 하는 기상 알람장치 및 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명 기상 알람장치 및 방법에 의하면 설정된 알람시간에 음향을 발생함과 동시에 음향소리를 듣고 잠에서 깨어난 사용자가 불어 넣는 공기의 압력으로 물통에 저장된 물이 분사노즐을 통해 분사되고, 분사되는 물이 사용자 얼굴에 자극을 주어 보다 완벽하게 잠에서 깨어날 수 있도록 함으로써 수면상태에서 효과적으로 깨어날 수 있도록 하는 것이다.

The invention relates to a method and to an apparatus for maintaining, restoring or increasing the attention and alertness of a fatigued person and for preventing accidents, damage, or incorrect decisions as a result of excess fatigue, particularly during extended monotonous activities. The objects of the invention are to create a method and an apparatus, which can minimize sleepiness and micro-sleep and considerable risks due to accidents, damage and incorrect decisions. According to the invention, it is provided in a method that the person in a stationary or movable device is caused to be moved from a fatigued awake state into brief sleep by technically and/or drug and/or behavior therapy-based measures, sleep-medicine measurements of eye movements and/or muscle and/or brain activities are evaluated, and after the brief sleep has been reached, particularly sleep stage 2 of sleep physiology, the person is influenced by a wake-up signal generated by said evaluation. According to the invention, an apparatus is provided for implementing the method.

Infrared crosspoint system. An infrared (IR) command code is received at the source location, and processed to produce a packet of information (600) rep-resenting the IR command code (204, 206, 208, 210). This packet can be incor-porated into a communication frame such as an Ethernet frame and forwarded over a network. The frame is parsed at the destination location (306) and the IR command code can be reassembled (310, 312) based on information in the packet. In some embodiments, apparatus including a frequency determination buffer (404), an IR transmitter and receiver (400, 402) and a processing platform (412) is used to implement the invention. The techniques disclosed herein can also be implemented as part of a general purpose, premises automation system, consisting of distributed processing platforms (700, 701, 702, 702).
