본 발명은 디스플레이 장치에 관한 것으로 특히, 반도체 발광 소자를 이용한 디스플레이 장치에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 디스플레이 장치에 있어서, 상기 반도체 발광소자들 중 적어도 하나는, 제1도전형 전극 및 제2도전형 전극과, 상기 제1도전형 전극이 배치되는 제1도전형 반도체층과, 수직방향으로 상기 제1도전형 반도체층과 오버랩되며, 상기 제2도전형 전극이 배치되는 제2도전형 반도체층, 및 상기 제1도전형 반도체층과 상기 제2도전형 반도체층의 사이에 배치되는 활성층을 포함하고, 상기 제1도전형 반도체층의 일면에는 상기 제1도전형 전극과 전기적으로 연결되는 연결부가 형성되고, 상기 연결부는 수평방향을 따라 상기 제2도전형 전극을 기준으로 일측에 치우치도록 배치된다.

A system of monitoring and/or maintaining remotely located autonomously powered lights, security systems, parking meters, and the like is operable to receive data signals from a number of the devices, and provide a comparison with other similar devices in the same geographic region to detect a default condition of a particular device, and/or assess whether the defect is environmental or particular to the specific device itself. The system includes memory for storing operating parameters and data, and outputs modified control commands to the devices in response to sensed performance, past performance and/or self-learning algorithms. The system operates to provide for the monitoring and/or control of individual device operating parameters on an individual or regional basis, over preset periods.

The invention relates to an electrical load (1, 7) like a lamp for being attached to a track (3) of a power distribution track system (12) for providing power, preferentially DC power, to the electrical load. The electrical load has an integrated power converter for converting a first power, preferentially AC power, to a second power, preferentially DC power, wherein the second power is supplied to a second conductor (5) of the track. If such an electrical load is attached to the track, not only the load, but also the available second power, which can be provided by the track, is increased. The probability that a power distribution track system gets overloaded, if an additional electrical load is attached to the track, can therefore be reduced, thereby simplifying the installation of a power distribution track system.

Disclosed are devices and methods for providing solar lighting and power to a consumer using pay-as-you-go technology. The pay-as-you-go technology allows for a user to pay for home power and lighting on an incremental basis as they use the device. The payments are made using a user's cell phone. A pay-as-you-go lighting apparatus may include a lighting module configured to provide lighting to a customer when activated, and a control system including a processor and a memory configured to monitor usage of the lighting apparatus, track remaining usage credits, and disable the lighting apparatus when there are no remaining usage credits.

This invention relates to a method of controlling the light output of a solar- powered lighting device. The lighting device comprises a light source, a battery connected to the light source, a solar-power generator including a charger connected to the battery, and a control unit for performing the light output control. The method comprises: - charging the battery while solar-power is generated; - acquiring local day-light data; - repeatedly: - acquiring, at predetermined time intervals, local weather forecast data covering a predetermined time period, and determining a lighting output profile for the predetermined time period; and - driving the lighting device according to the lighting output profile, wherein said determining a lighting output profile comprises: - predicting a lighting demand for the predetermined time period on basis of first environment light data, which first environment light data comprises the local day-light data; - predicting a battery capacity for the predetermined time period on basis of a present energy storage level and second environment light data, which second environment light data comprises the weather forecast data and the local day-light data; and - determining the lighting output profile on basis of the lighting demand and the battery capacity under consideration of keeping the energy storage level above a predetermined minimum level during the predetermined time period.
