Abstract:
Irrigation apparatus (70) is provided that includes an elongate housing (10) with an internal cavity (14) and a dispenser (24,76) that is fitted at a top of the cavity (14). The housing (10) is installed in soil and the dispenser (24,76) is supplied with water, which is dispensed into the cavity (14), to drip to an exposed soil surface (104) at the bottom of the housing (10), to provide water to plants.
Abstract:
A subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) pipe including a polymer water conduit with drippers spaced along a length of its wall and one or more essential oils (EO) adsorbed to a nanoclay (NC) /polymer structure so that EO is delivered to soil surrounding the SDI pipe.
Abstract:
A watering device, comprising: a housing (1) and a plurality of watering bags (5). The watering bags (5) are connected to the housing (1). A cover (2) is mounted at the top of the housing (1). A side wall of the housing (1) is provided with a plurality of installation holes (9). The installation holes (9) are internally provided with an internal screw thread (3). The watering bags (5) comprise a water storage chamber (7). An end of the water storage chamber (7) is provided with an external screw thread (6) matching the internal screw thread (3). A plurality of through holes (8) is provided at the bottom of the water storage chamber (7). The watering device has multiple combination modes and is suitable for diverse environments. The watering bags (5) are connected to the housing (1) via a connection tube (4). The length of the connection tube (4) can be changed to adjust watering area. This combination mode allows the watering bags (5) to be buried in soil, increasing watering efficacy. In addition, the watering bags (5) can be fixed to an outer side wall of the housing (1) by means of matching the internal screw thread (3) with the external screw thread (6). The watering device provides 360° watering, increases watering area and has a unique and attractive appearance.
Abstract:
A fitting for use in making a fluid connection with a pipe includes a saddle adapted to couple the fitting to the pipe. The saddle includes a body and first and second arms configured to extend at least partly around the pipe when coupling the fitting to the pipe. The fitting also includes a tap member adapted to insert at least partly into the pipe when the saddle couples the fitting to the pipe, to thereby establish the fluid connection between the fitting and the pipe. The tap member includes at least one support arm configured to moveably couple the tap member to the saddle such that the first and second arms of the saddle can be extended at least partly around the pipe prior to inserting the tap member at least partly into the pipe.
Abstract:
A system for controlling a moisture content below a surface area, where the system is installable in a recess above which the surface area will be located. The system comprises a substantially water impermeable first layer, a porous second layer and a water control basin which comprises means for controlling a moisture level of the porous second layer. The system enables liquid from the water control basin to be transported through the second layer by utilization of capillary forces, providing for an efficient sub-surface irrigation system which is easy to maintain. A method for providing such an irrigation system is also disclosed.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A distribution system and method for simultaneously distributing and reclaiming a liquid with a single, multi-directional system pathway. The system pathway follows a circuitous path for both receiving liquid from and returning reclaimed liquid to a reservoir positioned beneath a ground surface. A distribution pathway, such as a pipe, may carry the liquid with pressure from the reservoir to a distribution outlet. A reclamation pathway, such as a perforated pipe, may encapsulate the distribution pathway, and capture runoff and excessive liquid through at least one aperture for returning the liquid back to the reservoir. In some embodiments, the system pathway may include one perforated pipe that forms a barrier between the distribution pathway and the reclamation pathway. A film may cover the perforations to allow for pressurizing the water. A system of pumps, valves, and a control apparatus help regulate the liquid.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and devices that can improve water usage by plants and grasses by, for example, inducing preferential root tropism and assisting in redistributing water within the soil.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an irrigation hose intended for irrigating soils and made of a material comprising a thermoplastic, the irrigation openings being produced by means of a laser. The invention likewise relates to a method and an installation for producing such an irrigation hose for this purpose.
