Abstract:
A monetary system using electronic media (11) to exchange economic value securely and reliably. The invention provides a complete monetary system having electronic money that is interchangeable with conventional paper money comprising: (I) issuing banks (1) or financial institutions that are coupled to a money generator device (6) for generating and issuing to subscribing customers electronic currency backed by demand deposits and electronic credit authorizations; (II) correspondent banks (2) that accept and distribute the electronic money; (III) a plurality of transaction devices (4) that are used by subscribers for storing electronic money, for performing money transactions with the on-line systems of the participating banks or for exchanging electronic money off-line with other like transaction devices; (IV) teller devices (5), associated with the issuing (1) and correspondent banks (2), for process handling and interfacing the transaction devices (4) to the issuing (1) and correspondent banks (2), and for interfacing between the issuing (1) and correspondent banks (2) themselves; (V) a security arrangement (21) for maintaining the integrity of the system; and (VI) reconciliation (22, 23) and clearing processes (13) to monitor and balance the motenary system.
Abstract:
For providing a rechargeable credit key secured against illegal attempts to recharge such a key without the necessity to supervise fraud such credit key according to the invention has destructing means. This credit key can be used for all kinds of slot machines, and particularly for parking meters. The invention also provides a parking meter casing that can be manufactured by simple means.
Abstract:
A security device for use in a computer based system includes volatile data storage means storing an encryption key and data processing means in a closed container. The power supply necessary to operate the storage means is conveyed by a conductor winding over the entire inside surface of the container so that breaking into the container causes interruption of the supply and destruction of the stored data. The data processing means uses the key for encryption and decryption but prevents access to the key itself. The key is entered and stored in the storage means after assembly either using additional conductors later removed or destroyed or by means of an initial program of the processing means which later cannot be run.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides a binary coded decimal bank card (ATM card/credit card/debit card) and a multi-featured ATM machine which supports the binary coded decimal bank card with enhanced security method to perform financial transaction. The bank card includes at least one connector grid embedded in the card, at least one binary coded decimal embedded in the card, and at least one alias number embossed on the card. The binary coded decimal bank card is advanced binary coded decimal bank card having a connector grid and binary coded decimal to increase high security levels of the bank card. Further, such new bank card is utilized in new type of proposed ATM/POS machines having a capability to read/scan/support the binary coded decimal bank card with enhanced security method to perform financial transaction.
Abstract:
A tamperproof diamond package comprises a package body; at least one chip embedded in the package body and at least one antenna configured to enable communication with the chip; anti-counterfeiting visual impressions on the package body; a diamond pouch formed at a predetermined section within the package body; and one or more diamonds located inside the diamond pouch and an outer covering encasing the package body and configured to reveal any tampering with the one or more diamonds located in the diamond pouch. The diamond package can be credit card shaped and also contains serial number and website information and be provided in nominal dollar values. An associated diamond exchange system utilizes the diamond packages and provides a registration server which stores unique identifying information that enable interrogating the individual diamond packages and checking their authenticity with the registration server.

Abstract:
The present invention relates a method for controlling a loss of reliability of a non-volatile memory (NVM) included in an Integrated Circuit Card (ICC). The method comprises the steps of -determining whether the NVM is reliable or not at the Operative System (OS) side of said ICC, and -generating an event associated with the reliability of the NVM at the OS side for an application of said ICC, if the NVM is determined to be unreliable.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Techniques are provided for updating an offline parameter of a payment device having an online-capable application and a primarily offline application. The offline parameter can be a counter reflective of an offline spending balance. The same parameter can be shared between the applications, or cross-application visibility of the parameter can be provided. When a requirement to update the offline parameter is determined, the offline parameter can be updated substantially contemporaneously with an online transaction. The updates can be transparent to the user, allowing substantial duplication of the debit card and/or credit card experience with an offline payment device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electronic system comprising a casing consisting of at least first and second casing portions and containing a device for detecting the substitution of the first casing portion. The device comprises a first integrated circuit intended to be fixed to the first casing portion and a second integrated circuit intended to be fixed to the second casing portion. The second circuit is adapted to transmit to the first integrated circuit successive random or pseudo-random digital signals (R). The first integrated circuit is adapted to return to the second integrated circuit, for each digital signal, a first encrypted signature (S) from said digital signal. The second integrated circuit is adapted to determine a second encrypted signature (S') from said digital signal and to detect a substitution of the first casing portion if the first and second encrypted signatures are different.
