Abstract:
Methods of writing display data to MEMS display elements are configured to minimize charge buildup and differential aging. The methods may include writing data with opposite polarities, and periodically releasing and/or actuating MEMS elements during the display updating process. Actuating MEMS elements with potential differences higher than those used during normal display data writing may also be utilized.

Abstract:
A display is disclosed having crossover connections effecting dot inversion. The display includes a panel substantially comprising a subpixel repeating group, the group having an even number of subpixels across a first direction. The display also includes a driver circuit coupled to the panel providing image data signals to the panel, the signals effecting substantially a dot inversion scheme to the panel. The display also includes a plurality of crossover connections from the driver circuit to the columns of the panel such that same color subpixels across the first direction such that the polarities of the same color subpixels substantially alternate.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention proposes a circuit for an element (3) of a light-emitting display. The element comprises a current control means (4), first and second switching means (12, 10) and a light-emitting means (8). In one embodiment, a signal holding means (6) is provided. In addition, a light-emitting display having a plurality of elements (3) is proposed. Furthermore, a method for driving the elements (3) and the light-emitting display is proposed, and also a control signal for use with the method.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A display device (1) comprises electrophoretic particles (8,9) and an image screen comprising an array of display elements comprising a pixel electrode and a second electrode. The display device comprises control means (15) for supplying drive signals to the electrodes. In operation the image is displayed in subsequent frames. The control means comprise a row driver (16) and a column driver (10). Preset signals (53) are in operation supplied to the display elements whereby the preset signals applied to display elements alter between subsequent frames. The control means are arranged to change preset signals between frames in a column-to-column scheme. The means for supplying preset signals are arranged such that for the preset signals to at least a part of the image screen comprising a group of columns and rows only one set of data is transferred for the preset signals for said group.

Abstract:
A field-effect transistor (T2SW) in a semiconductor integrated circuit is driven by periodically applying positive and negative voltage pulses, with reference to the voltage applied to the source and drain electrodes, to the gate electrode. Stable operation of integrated circuit is realized by a simple method, even if the integrated circuit includes a field-effect transistor exhibiting a readily fluctuating threshold voltage.
