    Abstract: A method for continuously manufacturing aerosol generating articles (1) comprises: (i) providing a continuous web (34) of an aerosol generating substrate (10), the continuous web (34) including a substantially flat surface having a centre line (18); (ii) applying at least one susceptor patch (28) to the substantially flat surface substantially along the centre line (18) to leave an exposed region (90) of the continuous web (34) of aerosol generating substrate (10) on each side of the at least one susceptor patch (28); (iii) cutting the exposed regions (90) of the continuous web (34) of aerosol generating substrate (10) to form a plurality of aerosol generating strips (15, 16) on each side of the at least one susceptor patch (28); and (iv) forming the plurality of aerosol generating strips (15, 16) and the at least one susceptor patch (28) into a continuous rod (88).

    Abstract: The invention relates to an aerosol-generating device. The aerosol¬ generating device comprises at least two heating arrangements (12). Each heating arrangement (12) comprises a heating coil (32), a first contact (34), a second contact (36) and a third contact (38). The first contact (34) is arranged contacting a distal end of the heating coil (32). The second contact (36) is arranged contacting a proximal end of the heating coil. The third contact (38) is arranged contacting the heating coil (32) between the first contact (34) and the second contact (36). The aerosol generating device further comprises a sliding arrangement (28). The heating coils (32) of the heating arrangements (12) are arranged side by side parallel to a longitudinal axis of the aerosol-generating device. The sliding arrangement (28) is arranged adjacent the heating coils (32) and configured to slide parallel to the longitudinal axis of the aerosol-generating device and parallel to the heating coils (32). The third contacts (38) of the heating arrangements (12) are mounted on the sliding arrangement (28). An electrical contact point between each third contact (38) and each respective heating coil (32) is adaptable by sliding the sliding arrangement (28). The invention further relates to a system comprising an aerosol-generating device and an aerosol-generating article comprising aerosol-forming substrate.

    Abstract: According to one or more embodiments, an aerosol-generating device may be provided, the aerosol-generating device including: a cigarette insertion detection sensor detecting whether a cigarette is inserted into an accommodation space of the aerosol-generating device; a heater heating the cigarette inserted in the accommodation space; at least one temperature sensor measuring temperatures of at least two locations inside the aerosol-generating device; and a controller configured to determine whether the aerosol-generating device is in an overheated state based on temperatures measured by the temperature sensor when the cigarette inserted into the accommodation space is detected by the cigarette insertion detection sensor, and automatically perform a heating operation using the heater after waiting until the overheated state is finished when it is determined that the aerosol-generating device is in an overheated state.
