Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for conditioning and purifying pigment orange 74. Said method is characterized in that the aqueous suspension of the raw pigment, optionally after adding an organic solvent from the group comprising isobutanol, chlorobenzene, and o-dichlorobenzene, is subjected to a finishing treatment, the organic solvent is optionally removed using a distillation process, the remaining aqueous pigment suspension is mixed with a non-ionic surfactant and is heated to a temperature ranging from 30 to 100 degrees C, and the pigment is then filtered off.
Abstract:
A sulfonated derivative of an organic pigment moiety comprising a polyetheramine, and a metal or ammonium salt. The pigment is used for coloration of printing inks and coatings. For ink-jet systems there is excellent filterability, low viscosity, and stability thereof.

Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for dispersing solid pigment preparations in liquid media. Said method is characterized in that a high-speed mixer is used which operates according to the rotor/stator principle.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method for preparing conditioned pigments that have smaller diameter and increased color strength, masstone and travel by milling pigment with a dispersant comprising polyurethane. Further, the invention provides the conditioned pigments prepared by the method of the invention and their applications to paints, coatings, inks, plastics, optical devices, color filters and so forth.
Abstract:
A process for the production of a particle composition containing, at least one resin and at least one pigment is described, said process comprising the following steps : • extrusion of a mixture containing said at least one resin and said at least one pigment without induced heating; • subsequent extrusion, with induced heating, of the mixture obtained from the preceding extrusion; • granulation of the mixture thus obtained. With the abovementioned process it is possible to obtain a composition having granules with an average diameter less than 2 microns and a greater homogeneity than the known processes.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a modified colorant comprising a colorant having at least one polymer attached or adsorbed thereto. The polymer comprises at least one functional group, and various embodiments of the functional group are disclosed. For each of these embodiments, preferably the functional group has a defined calcium index value. Also disclosed are various uses for these modified colorants, including inkjet ink compositions. Thus, the present invention further relates to an inkjet ink composition comprising a) a liquid vehicle, b) at least one colorant, and c) at least one polymer comprising at least one functional group as described herein.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing C.I. Pigment Red 254 with an average particle size d 50 of between 10 and 120 nm and a half-width of the peak at 28.3° 2Theta of between 0.2 and 0.7° 2Theta in the X-ray powder diffractogram obtained using Cu-K alpha radiation. The method is characterised by the milling of a crystalline raw product of C.I. Pigment Red 254 in a liquid medium under the action of a grinding medium, in a ball-mill agitator, which is operated with a power density of more than 1.0 kW per litre grinding chamber and an agitator peripheral speed of more than 12 m/s.
