Abstract:
A method, apparatus, and computer-readable media for routing a message service message in a wireless device is disclosed. According to a method, routing messages in a wireless device includes receiving routing preferences from one or more applications operating with a wireless device. The method further includes receiving a message, and routing the message to designated locations for the one or more applications. The locations may include an application or set of applications, or a memory unit associated with one or more applications. Another method includes determining a routing parameter from the message by parsing at least one routing parameter from message content. Routing the message further includes comparing the at least one routing parameter with the routing preferences.
Abstract:
Method and device for delivering messages to mobile terminal devices by proceeding in case of an unsuccessful message delivery attempt to said mobile terminal device from a Store-and-Forward Entity of a mobile communication network with a presence service. The method comprises the reception of a notification about an unsuccessful delivery attempt of a message, and a subscription to a presence service for future notifications of the status of a terminal device. The method and a service is provided for executing a communication attempt following an unsuccessful delivery attempt of a message to with a mobile terminal device in a communication network. This invention allows to reduce the conventionally necessary multiple delivery attempts to just one The Store-and-Forward Entity does this by subscribing to the presence service in case of a mobile terminated delivery attempt to be performed.
Abstract:
A method, system and computer program product for instant message communication in a wireless and non-wireless environment. The invented system includes an apparatus that facilitates conversation with individuals not included in the user's buddy group, non-buddies (183). The system includes at least one additional routing code (4561) reserved for conversing with non-buddies. The first time during a user session that the system receives a message originating from or destined for a non-buddy, before routing the message, the non-buddy's personal identifier is associated with one of the reserved routing codes (4561). The mobile user can then reply to the message using the same automated «reply» function available for replies to buddies. The nonbuddy routing code assignment is only for the duration of a user session. When the mobile user signs off from the system, the routing code becomes available for reassignment.
Abstract:
The method for executing a communication attempt with a mobile terminal device in accordance with the attainability status of a mobile terminal device in a cellular communication network having a Short Message Service Centre by the steps of: querying a SMSC in a cellular network for obtaining an attainability status of said mobile terminal device and delivering said communication attempt to said mobile terminal device in accordance with said attainability status. This invention allows an application to find out if a mobile terminal device e.g. a handset is reachable without actually contacting the handset. A short message service centre does this by initiating a mobile terminated delivery attempt but not finishing it but telling the application instead if the home location register of a cellular network thinks the handset is reachable or not.
Abstract:
In order to facilitate the handling of high volumes of text messages such as that associated with voting, competitions and interactive TV, a telecommunications services apparatus is provided with one or more SMS routers (3) to which all incoming text messages are passed, a first path being provided between the SMS routers (3) and an SMS Host (7) capable of terminating high volumes of text messages, and an alternative path being provided between the SMS routers and other destinations, the SMS router/s (3) being configured to recognise incoming text messages to one or more specified SMS Hosts and to be operative to direct such text messages to the SMS Host by way of the first path, and without passing via an SMSC. The first path has a relatively high bandwidth compared with the bandwidth of the alternative path.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method, apparatus and system for providing multimedia messages to incompatible terminals. The apparatus includes a notification module (216), a media converter (220) and a retrieval module (218). The notification module (216) notifies the incompatible terminal (210) that the multimedia message (222) is available. The media converter (220) transcodes one or more parts of the multimedia message (222). The retrieval module (218) is communicably coupled to the media converter (220) and retrieves the multimedia message (222) in response to a delivery request (232, 234) from the incompatible terminal (210), renders the multimedia message (222), using the media converter (220) as necessary, into a message that is compatible with the incompatible terminal (210) and sends the message to the incompatible terminal (210). This method can be implemented using a computer program embodied on a computer readable medium wherein each function is executed using a code segment.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for providing a calling number of an incomplete call, and in more detail, a method and apparatus for providing a calling number of an incomplete call for a receiving terminal when the incomplete call, which cannot receive a call, occurs. A calling number providing system provides the calling number of an incomplete call, wherein the system comprises a TCAP connector, a TCAP message receiver, a TCAP message analyzing unit, an incomplete call logging unit, a message informing unit, a controller, a message searching unit, a short message creator, a database broker, and SMCI/SMPP message constructing unit, a short message dispatching unit, and an SMCI/SMPP connector.
Abstract:
A mobile telephone network has a function (30) which interacts with the platform (40) or platforms processing a call, event or session to: a) determine the services and/or call handling operations to be applied to the call, event or session; and b) determine if the platform(s) (40) are capable of carrying out the services and/or call handling operations required by the call, event or session. The function may then arrange for the platform (40) to be provided with appropriate data or for the call, event or session to be transferred to another platform. Moreover, a call may have part of its data converted into a standard protocol, and the data in that standard protocol then be used to guarantee a trigger for processing the call at a transfer device.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention discloses an arrangement and a method for binding policies to MMS content to be distributed as MMS message transactions, and provides content policy enforcement on MMS message transactions by controlling, filtering and charging transaction-transfer in the mobile network. Further, the arrangement provides retention of content policy bindings when MMS messages re-enters the mobile network as new message transactions providing a trusted environment for policy and content rights handling. The present invention can be integrated in existing MMS architecture, and is compatible with all MMS content formats, being both existing and new formats.
