Abstract:
An arrangement for preventing loops as a result of the forwarding or copying of SMS messages is described. When forwarding an SMS message, the recipient and/or the sender of the message is included in a message header. In this way, a list of all parties who have been in contact with the message is built up in the message header. In the event that the message is to be forwarded to a recipient who has already received the message (thereby creating a loop), the forwarding of the message to that recipient is prevented.
Abstract:
A method for receiving a message for which a result record is generated. One or more linked result records are generated, where a linked result record comprises a link to or from the result record of the received message. Information is updated from delivery reports relating to the delivery of linked messages generated on the basis of the received message and transmitted to one or more destination nodes to the result record of the received message and to its linked result records. The method provides a simple and conservative implementation for one-to-many and many-to-one relationship between individually addressed mobile originated and mobile terminated messages and their associated reports.
Abstract:
The method for executing a communication attempt with a mobile terminal device in accordance with the attainability status of a mobile terminal device in a cellular communication network having a Short Message Service Centre by the steps of: querying a SMSC in a cellular network for obtaining an attainability status of said mobile terminal device and delivering said communication attempt to said mobile terminal device in accordance with said attainability status. This invention allows an application to find out if a mobile terminal device e.g. a handset is reachable without actually contacting the handset. A short message service centre does this by initiating a mobile terminated delivery attempt but not finishing it but telling the application instead if the home location register of a cellular network thinks the handset is reachable or not.
Abstract:
A system for software licence control is described that is particular useful for use in a virtualized system, such as a cloud computing system. A module can be made available for use within the virtualized network, wherein a licence fee is payable for use of the module. The module includes a licence file that can be located wherever it is required. In addition, a central licence file is provided at an administration node. The central licence file is configured such that it can only be operated from that administration node, thereby preventing the copying of that file. The licence file operating in the virtual network communicates with the central licence file. The central licence file controls the use of the licensed module.
Abstract:
A network node of a communications system that routes short messages in a home network of a mobile station provides a service where one or more functions are invoked in response to receiving a request to forward a short message addressed to the mobile station. When the network node receives a request to forward a short message it determines a type of transmission of the received short message, where the type of transmission indicates whether or not a request for forwarding the same short message has been previously received in the network node. The network node then invokes functions of the service according to the determined type of transmission.
Abstract:
A short message service (SMS) node is detecting that at least one request to deliver a plurality of short messages (SM) is originating from a single user, combining information (MSISDN, ISMI) related to recipients of the plurality of short messages in a signalling message, and is transmitting the signalling message to a charging function (OFCS, OCS).
