Abstract:
The solution herein is directed to a method of operation of a network node 22 of a cellular communications system 10 implementing a CBS for a PWS, comprising: receiving (304) from a CBC 24 a write-replace warning request message with respect to a PWS message; determining (310) that one or more base stations 16 are unavailable to the network node; and sending (312) to the CBC, a write-replace warning indication message including information indicative of the one or more base stations that are unavailable. *** Also, there is a method of operation of a network node 22 in a cellular communications system 10 implementing a CBS for a PWS comprising: receiving (202) from a CBC 24 a stop warning request message with respect to a PWS message; determining (408) that one or more base stations 16 are unavailable to the network node; and sending (410) to the CBC a stop warning indication message including information indicative of the one or more base stations that are unavailable.
Abstract:
A method for routing Short Message Service (SMS) messages to a home network of a mobile equipment from which the SMS messages originate, the method comprising, at the mobile equipment: receiving an indication of an SMS message being sent from the mobile equipment in a first manner, the first manner is in accordance with an SMS standard; actively preventing the SMS message from being sent in the first manner; and sending, directly or indirectly, content of the SMS message and metadata associated with the SMS message to the home network in a second manner, the second manner is not in accordance with the SMS standard, thereby enabling an SMS center of the home network to send the SMS message to its destination.
Abstract:
Method and system for optimizing the roaming mechanism through handling by the visited network the data that are sent by the wireless devices without routing these data to the home network. International gateways are therefore not used or are used for much fewer communications, thereby decreasing the cost of roaming for telecommunication operators. In addition, the invention allows processing in the home network the authentication and charging operation that needs sensitive information, preserving thereby the security of data.
Abstract:
A home router network element assigns a correlation key including an LMS1 to an MSISDN in such a way that the risk of short message mis-delivery to a wrong mobile subscriber is very much reduced. This is achieved by projection of MSISDN ranges on correlation key ranges while the correlation key is still unpredictable. The level of correlation key unpredictability is determined by applicable numbering plans and for practical purposes avoids the chance that an MT message originated by a fraudulent party is successfully delivered via the home router.
Abstract:
A method for configuring service settings for a mobile subscriber (18) in a mobile communication network wherein the mobile subscriber (18) is associated with a first instant communication client (1) which is adapted to communicate via an instant messaging protocol with an instant communication server (3), and wherein the instant communication server (3) is associated to a mobile switching center (2) of the mobile communication network, the method comprises the following steps: -sending, by the first instant communication client (1), an instant service command via the instant communication server (3) to a second instant communication client (50), associated with the mobile switching center (2); -converting, by the mobile switching center (2), the instant service command into a service setting message; -sending the service setting message to a user database (4) to modify service settings for the mobile subscriber (18).
