Abstract:
A self-locking lifting hook is disclosed, of the kind having and arcuate hook body (1) and an upper, pivotable lever (5) with one arm forming a suspension means (7) and a second arm (8) forming a closure means for the hook opening (10) . A finger element (13) is pivotably mounted at the upper part of the hook so as to close the hook opening (19), under the influence of a spring means (14) , irrespective of the pivotal position of the lever (5) .
Abstract:
One embodiment of the present invention describes a lifting system (20) for hoisting heavy pre-cast panels includes an anchor-lifting device (22) permanently secured within a connection recess formed in the panel, and a connecting apparatus that attaches to the anchor-lifting device. The anchor-lifting device (22) presents a laterally disposed connection pin (38) for attachment to a pair of laterally spaced lifting hooks (52,54) that form the connecting apparatus. Another embodiment of the present invention describes a removable and reusable insert (110) for positioning and supporting a lifting system (200) within a panel to be formed from cast concrete, the insert assembly (110) having a left and right portion (131,133) which are detachably removable from each other, and a lid (112) that is secured over the insert. The lid (112) protects an interior space of the insert assembly.
Abstract:
A load-supporting means suitable for use on a crane or lifting mechanism comprises an elongate support (2), a hook (1) suspended therefrom, said hook (1) being provided with ejector means (13) mounted around the elongate support (2), the control means (3) controlling the operation of the ejector means (13) of the hook (1), the arrangement being such that the control means (3) is mounted around the elongate support (2) at a location that is above said hook (1) and ejector means (13), and such that the weight of a load carried by the hook (1) depends from and is supported substantially only by the elongate support (2) whereas substantially no weight is carried by the control means (3). The hook (1) can be laid on a deck or floor to stop the hook (1) swinging around while leaving the control means (3) hanging upright and fully accessible for maintenance or repair. Since the control means (3) does not carry load weight, the control means (3) can be much lighter and cheaper than prior art arrangements wherein a hook release control unit has to carry the weight of a load.
Abstract:
A clipping device (2) and method of use wherein the clipping device (2) comprises a hook (4) for attachment to a supporting bar or other device. The hook (4) has a shank end (6) and a curved end (8). A two-way gate (10) having an upper end (12) and a lower end (14) is pivotally coupled to the shank end (6) of the hook (4). The upper end (12) of the two-way gate (10) is adjacent to the curved end (8) of the hook (4) and forms an openable mouth (16). A method for using the clipping device (2) comprises attaching the clipping device (2) to a support by pressing the upper end (12) of the two-way gate (10) against the support causing movement of the two-way gate (10) inward, providing passage (16) for the support into said hook (4). The clipping device (2) is detached from the support by pressing the upper end (12) of the two-way gate (10) against the support, causing movement of the two-way gate (10) outward, providing passage (16) for the support out of the hook (4).
