The invention relates to a convertible piece of furniture that is essentially closed towards the outside, that can be opened as required and comprises a seat (11) in the inside. Said seat can be extracted and opened during or after opening the piece of furniture or can be folded out when opening the piece of furniture. Said piece of furniture can be embodied as a table that has a table top and several lateral parts (4, 6). Said table top is split into two parts and one lateral part (4) can be introduced into the horizontal position that is close to the ground. One part (7) of the table top that is adjacent to the lateral part (4) remains fixed in relation thereto or can be introduced into a corresponding position. The invention relates to a table that can be used in the conventional manner, and as required can be quickly converted into a piece of furniture that resembles a cockpit and that can be used to play computer or video games.

An actuated support frame (10) for transmitting motion to a seat with respect to a ground as a function of motion signals associated with video output, comprises a frame (12,12',12'',112). The frame (12,12',12'',112) is expandable/retractable along translational degrees of freedom. Support surfaces (23,23') are provided on the frame (12,12',12'',112). The support surfaces (23,23') are displaceable with respect to one another by expansion/retraction of the frame (12,12',12'',112) so as to be sized to support a seat (A). Actuators (41) are provided between the frame (12,12',12'',112) and the ground. The actuators (41) receive signals and selectively displace the frame (12,12',12'',112) with respect to the ground in synchronization with a video output, whereby a seat (A) supported on the frame (12,12',12'',112) is displaceable within the frame (12,12',12'',112). A method for installing a seating system of a motion simulator system is also provided.

A seating apparatus for allowing a user to sit in either a cross-legged yoga position or in a conventional manner. The apparatus may also include a seat for supporting a user and two adjustable leg supports for supporting the user's left and right thighs at a desired angle when the user sits in a cross-legged position. A video game chair for enhancing the enjoyment of a video game includes a chair member formed of a horizontal seat portion with a backrest portion vertically extending therefrom. Adjacent each of two opposing sides of the seat portion is an adjustable arm with a game controller mounted thereon. A speaker and adjustable leg are mounted adjacent each of two opposing sides of the backrest portion. An interface box is removably attached to a lower surface of the seat portion for electrically connecting the speakers and controller to a conventional game box.

In order to prevent RSI complaints, the invention aims at providing an improved chair, which is characterized in that the seat comprises a convex part, which part can be movably accommodated in a corresponding part of the chassis having a complementary concave shape, and in that the means for controlling the cursor are at least in part disposed at the location of the mating area between said convex and concave parts.

An improved massage chair (10) is provided herein. The massage chair (10) includes (i) a front lower support (12) including a front attachment section (14), (ii) a rear lower support (16) including a rear attachment section (18), (iii) a seat (48) secured to the rear lower support (12), (iv) a front upper support (22) including an upper attachment section (24), (v) a chest rest (26) secured to the front upper support (22), and (iv) a connector (28). Importantly, the connector (28) connects the front attachment section (14), the rear attachment section (18) and the upper attachment section (24) and allows for relative motion of the front lower support (12), the rear lower support (16) and the front upper support (22) about the connector (28). As a result of this design, the massage chair (10) easily moves between a transport position (32) and an upright position (30). Further, as a result of this design, the profile of the massage chair (10) in the transport position (32) is relatively small.

A reclining support (10) suitable for astronomy observation has three sub-assemblies which can be readily connected together or dismantled. A base sub-assembly (11) has legs (12) which support a turntable (13, 14) and the turntable (13, 14) supports a chassis sub-assembly (17) which can rotate about a central pin (15) upstanding from the base (11), and further is coupled to the base (11) by an elevational tilt central link (70) which can be easily and quickly disconnected. The chassis carries on it a pair of upwardly facing "U" supports (19) by which a chair frame sub-assembly can be supported for ready removal, and the chair frame (21) itself carries a binocular frame (32, 33) in an adjustable and slidable binocular carrier sub-assembly which is coupled by simple telescopic frame members (35, 36) which can be removed from the chassis sub-assembly by sliding action of the telescopic members. This arrangement can achieve a simple lightweight observation support which is readily transported and erected.
