Abstract:
An input device for providing user input to a computing device includes a seat portion allowing a user to sit on the device. The input device further includes several positional sensors that detect changes in pitch, yaw and roll and convert those detected changes to a control signal for operating functions on a computing device and/or providing input to applications running on the computing device.
Abstract:
The present document describes a link member for providing an interface between an actuator and a seat base. The link member has a translational degree of freedom and at least two rotational degrees of freedom. The link member comprises: a joint member having a spherical surface, the joint member for attachment to one of the actuator and the seat base; a housing for attachment to the other one of the actuator and the seat base; and a slider mounted on the spherical surface and within the housing. The slider is free to move in a direction of a translational plane within the housing thereby providing the translational degree of freedom. Furthermore, the slider is free to slide on the spherical surface and to pivot about a first axis and a second axis thereby providing the at least two rotational degrees of freedom
Abstract:
Abstract:
An article of seating furniture that is particularly desirable for use with bariatric patients is disclosed. The seating furniture includes a seat portion that includes a front seating area and a rear seating area. The front seating area is defined by a generally semi-elliptical front perimeter surface while the rear seating area is defined by a different, generally semi-elliptical rear perimeter surface. The surface area of the front seating area is less than the surface area of the rear seating area to provide enhanced ingress and egress for a bariatric patient. The seating furniture includes a back portion and two pair of support legs that further enhance the desirability of the seating furniture for a bariatric patient.
Abstract:
A structural system for use in areas in which space is valuable. The structural system is a self-contained meeting center capable of transforming from a closed storage position into an open position for conducting a meeting. The structural system may be used for interior and exterior applications. The structural system may also include a mobile, micro-climate controlled chair system.
Abstract:
The present invention is an underwater chair to support a person at least partially submerged in a body of water. The chair comprises a main structure (10) and a seat (40) connected thereto; the main structure having a leg portion (12), that in use rests on the bottom of the body of water, a head portion (11) and an arm portion (16). The seat comprises a flexible sheet (41) that is attached to the head portion and the arm portion, and a buoyant member (30) that is connected to the sheet between the points at which the seat is attached to the main structure. The person is supported on that part of the seat that extends between the buoyant member and the arm portion in such a way that movement of the person on the seat can alter the seating position.
Abstract:
A motorized seat is provided in which a seating structure can be rotated at variable speeds and directions through an associated drive motor. In close proximity to the seating structure is an array of speakers through which music is played. An occupant seated in the chair experiences a variety of acoustical and rotational phenomena as the speed and direction of chair rotation is varied in accompaniment to the music. The seating apparatus and resulting process provides for a relaxing experience.

Abstract:
A transportable apparatus for a video game system where the apparatus includes a frame and a seat foldably connected to the frame such that the frame is movable between a storage position adjacent to the seat and an operative position away from the seat. The apparatus also includes an interface associated with one of the frame and the seat for providing user input to the video game system. The transportable apparatus is configured to be easily folded and unfolded and enables users to transport the apparatus to different locations.
