Abstract:
Example resource provisioning systems and methods are described. In one implementation, an execution platform accesses multiple remote storage devices. The execution platform includes multiple virtual warehouses, each of which includes a cache to store data retrieved from the remote storage devices and a processor that is independent of the remote storage devices. A resource manager is coupled to the execution platform and monitors received data processing requests and resource utilization. The resource manager also determines whether additional virtual warehouses are needed based on the data processing requests and the resource utilization. If additional virtual warehouses are needed, the resource manager provisions a new virtual warehouse.
Abstract:
Example resource management systems and methods are described. In one implementation, a resource manager is configured to manage data processing tasks associated with multiple data elements. An execution platform is coupled to the resource manager and includes multiple execution nodes configured to store data retrieved from multiple remote storage devices. Each execution node includes a cache and a processor, where the cache and processor are independent of the remote storage devices. A metadata manager is configured to access metadata associated with at least a portion of the multiple data elements.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a method 40 in a node 14 1 , 14 2 ; 21 of a communication system 10 for selecting a message box 2O 1 , 20 2 for a machine device 12 i ,..., 12 n . The communication system 10 comprises one or more capillary networks 11 and a wireless network 16, the one or more capillary networks 11 comprising one or more machine devices 12 i ,..., 12 n and at least two capillary network gateways 14 1 , 14 2 . The at least two capillary network gateways 14 1 , 14 2 are capable of data exchange between the machine device 12 i ,..., 12 n and the wireless network 16. The method 40 comprises establishing 42, for the machine device 12 i ,..., 12 n , a first probability reflecting the probability that the machine device 12 i ,..., 12 n changes capillary network gateway 14 1 , 14 2 between two consecutive data transmission events performed by the machine device 12 i ,..., 12 n , and selecting 44, based on the first probability, a message box 20 1 , 20 2 for use by the machine device 12. The disclosure also relates to corresponding node, computer programs and computer program products.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for location-based online content sharing using unique identifiers are provided. A server and a plurality of clients may be connected to one or more networks. A first client may send a shared content to the server. The first client may also send a first location of the first client as well as a unique identifier for the shared content. The server may store the shared content. A second client may request the shared content, and the request may include the unique identifier and a second location of the second client. The server may determine that the second location is within a predefined distance from the first location. Upon such determination, the server may send the shared content to the second client.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide an information sharing method, an information sharing apparatus, and an electronic device. The method is applied to a first electronic device, and includes: when it is detected that an electronic device binding option built in a browser is triggered, retrieving a dialog box built in the browser, where at least one electronic device binding function option is set in the dialog box; when it is detected that an electronic device binding function option is triggered, executing a corresponding electronic device binding function in the background, and sending first information to a server; and after the server determines that a preset correspondence exists between second information sent by a second electronic device and the first information and establishes a binding relationship between the first electronic device and the second electronic device, performing information sharing between the first electronic device and the second electronic device. The embodiments of the present invention implement information sharing between electronic devices in a browser scenario, thereby implementing convenient sharing of information, and moreover ensuring accuracy of information sharing.
Abstract:
A method, corresponding apparatuses, and a computer program product for data-sharing are provided. The method comprises transmitting, from a user equipment of a plurality of user equipments within a local area, a first data-sharing request message to at least another user equipment of the plurality of user equipments. The method also comprises receiving, at the user equipment, at least one second data-sharing request message transmitted from at least the other user equipment, wherein the first data-sharing request message and at least one second data-sharing request message each include a timestamp indicating a time at which the data-sharing request message is transmitted. The method further comprises comparing the timestamp included in the first data-sharing request message and the timestamp included in the at least one second data-sharing request message. The method additionally comprises determining, based on a result of the comparing, whether the user equipment acts as a sender or receiver in the data-sharing to be performed. With the claimed inventions, faster data-sharing may be realized.
Abstract:
A method in a system for sending a picture from an electronic mobile device to an electronic device is provided. The picture is to be sent over a wireless communications network. The system comprises the electronic mobile device, the wireless communications network, and the electronic device, and the electronic mobile device comprises a camera unit. The camera unit captures a high resolution picture. The electronic mobile device creates a low resolution picture based on the high resolution picture. The electronic mobile device sends the low resolution picture to the electronic device, and, when a quality of resources in the wireless communications network is above a threshold, sends the high resolution picture to at least one database for storage. Further, such a system is provided.
