Abstract:
Service Layer adaptation may be realized through one or more adaptation rules that are programmed by server administrators in a structured but flexible manner. As part of integrating the adaptive control into its operations, a Service Layer may be configured to provide the capability to receive requests in which an adaptation rule may be specified, to provide indications through response codes returned to requestors that the Service Layer is not able to process a request due to a reduced functional state, and to send a request for more server resources or move an application, a service, or a service instance to another platform.
Abstract:
Techniques described herein enable a user equipment (UE) to send a short message service (SMS) message to a public safety answering point (PSAP) during an emergency situation. Techniques can involve initiating an emergency call to a PSAP in response to a detected emergency condition and sending an emergency-related SMS message in response to detecting a trigger condition, where the SMS is sent via a serving network different than a home network of the UE and the sending bypasses the home network.
Abstract:
A secure smart hub system for integrating and controlling multiple networked devices such as home automation devices and providing a platform for accessing cloud based services includes voice authentication and identification means and other core functionality that is available without an active internet connection. The system includes a smart hub instigated voice prompt function responsive to behavior patterns of a monitored subject when reconciled with rules data as interpreted by a cloud based AI analysis engine. The system provides continuous monitoring of WAN and LAN connectivity and provides reporting and alerts on performance metrics. The system connects through a default secure VPN connection. The system further includes location-aware portable computing devices and a flexible, configurable and intuitive interface for both users and administrators.
Abstract:
In accordance with the example embodiments of the invention there is at least a method and apparatus to perform establishing a connection to a network node of a communication network, wherein the connection comprises a primary link connection to a first network node and one or more secondary link connections to nodes of a same or different network; detecting a radio link failure on the primary link connection (420); and based on determining that one or more further conditions are not present (435), maintaining at least one of the one or more secondary link connections. Further, there is performing communicating over a connection with a user equipment, wherein the connection comprises a primary link connection to the user equipment and one or more secondary link connections to nodes of a same or different network; detecting a radio link failure on the primary link connection; and based on determining that one or more further conditions are not present, maintaining at least one of the one or more secondary link connections.
Abstract:
Techniques are described herein to dynamically control a number of hybrid automatic repeat requests (HARQ) transmissions based at least in part on flow characteristics of a data flow. Data included in a transport block may be grouped into one or more data flows based on a variety of factors. A set of performance benchmarks may be associated with each data flow. Flow characteristics for each data flow may be measured. A network entity may determine a number of HARQ transmissions to be transmitted during a HARQ procedure based on measured flow characteristics satisfying the performance benchmarks. For example, if a performance benchmark is not satisfied by its associated flow characteristic, the network entity may request additional HARQ transmissions during the HARQ procedure.
Abstract:
A load balancing system is provided including: one or more virtual machines implemented in a cloud-based network and including a processor; and a load balancing application implemented in the virtual machines and executed by the processor. The load balancing application is configured such that the processor: receives one or more health messages indicating states of health of network appliances implemented in an appliance layer of the cloud-based network; receives a forwarding packet from a network device for an application server; based on the health messages, determines whether to perform a failover process or select a network appliance; performs a first iteration of a symmetric conversion to route the forwarding packet to the application server via the selected network appliance; receives a return packet from the application server based on the forwarding packet; and performs a second iteration of the symmetric conversion to route the return packet to the network device.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for enabling establishment of at least one Packet Data Network (PDN) connection between a wireless communication device and a communication network, and a wireless communication device performing the method. According to an embodiment, a method performed at a wireless communication device (16) of enabling establishment of at least one PDN connection (21) with a communication network (10) is provided. The method comprises detecting (S2) whether connectivity to an Information Centric Networking (ICN) network (23) is available via the at least one PDN connection (21) for transporting ICN data.
Abstract:
A method for wireless communication by an advertising Bluetooth (BT) device is described. The method includes detecting an energy level that indicates a corrupt connection request sent by a remote BT device. The method also includes determining that there is a failed connection attempt based on the corrupt connection request. The method further includes performing connectable advertising at a faster rate to allow the remote BT device to reconnect quickly.
